There are midweek games, don't forget, normally over 2 evenings. 5 games on simultaneously typically.
Viewing the Premier League (live) 16/17...
For what it's worth, and I may be in the minority for members on this forum, but I'm stoked with the service. Mostly because it's on TV and I still prefer to get my content that way - even though I do watch some lightbox via Smart TV and am also accustomed to downloading from eztv.
For me, you can't beat mysky. Being able to record and rewind at will is superb (basically ondemand service) and I'm glad to finally have all the pre/post match stuff as well as highlights/news etc. Channel 266 is my go-to channel now and I love it. The only thing they need to sort is the series link for each of the shows.
Do I need an option online? Maybe every now and then if I'm not home, but it's not a biggie for me. And I suspect that is the case for a lot of people in NZ who still prefer normally TV over online.

Not sure if it'll be the same for the PL this season, but ss1 and ss2 are showing BeIN feeds of the Champions League qualifiers, along with the 2nd BeIN channel (3 games in total). Hopefully and indication on what they're going to do when there's 5/6 PL games on to avoid having to delay games
From what I have heard that won't be happening. Once the 3rd pop up is available after RIO then that's 4 games live simultaneously, which covers most weekends from the quick research I have done.
It will cover most weekends but from memory, last round of the season has all 10 games starting at the same time.
Yeah that's tough weekend to cover.

Yeah probably. I'm just trying to provide some balance from all the negativity. But I also understand paying for base mysky is not an affordable option for everyone as well. For those of us lucky enough too though, it's proven a bloody good service and better than anything I've ever had.
If the online option is comparable to PLP then it is a good outcome in which we get the best of both worlds. Here's hoping.
Looking forward to sitting down in front of the box this weekend with some beers and salt and vinegar chips

That's a weird way to have sex..... #nojudgement

For the older tv systems, not for the internet based ones.
Yes, "on-demand" is best defined by the slight restriction of never being able to leave the lounge.
Just clicked that the german/italian/swiss service DAZN (Above) is owned/run by the same people behind livesport.tv (who offer A-League streaming).
Just heard that Livesport.tv is being shutdown, no A-League there next year.

totally because thanks to the power of the internet you can now fully concentrate on 10 different games at once... *rolls eyes*
*rolls eyes and sighs*
If there's only 5 games being shown live at once, then that means 5 other games are NOT being shown live.
If I am the fan of one of those teams, then I can't watch my game live.
I'm not even that bothered by this to be honest, as I'm an Arsenal fan so our club is big enough that it generally would get one of those slots. I was just making the point that this is easily navigated by internet tv, but not by older tv systems.

no i get your point - i was just taking the piss. The reality is this happens once per season on the last day so not really a massive deal is it?
the internet is only good for porn
Just a reminder that there's Man United v Southampton on tomorrow morning. I wish there were more Saturday morning games
A good day to be on afternoon shifts.
That is fantastic, I'll be watching that on the 'morrow.
They should have a fri nite game every week... it's part of our culture over here for our sports, but not traditionally in the UK. Hope they start to adopt it more, the timing is beautiful for us here.

Seems to me it can be navigated easily by tv systems. Look how many channels the Olympics is on. Not saying they'd do 9 pop ups for final week but they clearly could (technically).

Do you not understand how many Olympic events have not been live because if the limitations of tv broadcasting?
No? Enlighten me.
Are you saying broadcast rights would prohibit screening 10 games live on satellite TV but there would be no broadcast issues doing the exact same online? Seems odd to me.
If thats the case then fair enough but the point I was making was that technically they could do it.

Sky's Olympic Website (Once it started working on Day 11) has had all events live...but again that is an online service ;-)

I don't think that's what he's saying at all?
Online it would be divided purely into sports - just click on the events or sports you want to watch. Much more user friendly than having 10 pop-ups and trying to navigate which sport is on which channel etc. I have missed a ton of stuff just because I couldn't be arsed trawling through the guide trying to work it all out, it's just so annoying and unnecessary. I actually had much better experiences when using the olympics app at work, you just opened it up and selected your event.
As much as some want to defend the tv model, the simple fact is that it's out-dated, and is being phased out.
If anyone uses Netflix around here, then you will know how much easier it is to watch what you want to watch, or find new things that you might want to watch. It's just a far better and more flexible experience online then on television.
The only area where television still matches or betters the internet is the reliable consistency of picture quality. But that benefit will slowly diminish as the internet and streaming services continue to improve.
anyone going to phone into fanzone? They just had kingdom from Zimbabwe on
I'm only defending the tv model as it's what I personally prefer. Sorry for being different to you.
They are skygo only, the games played on those two channels aren't on satellite live

I agree that any good online platform should make it easy (Chromecast etc, smarttv app or appletv) to play the content on your tv. I watch More of my content on a big screen, it's also just nice to be able to catch up on a tablet when away from home.
Online shouldn't mean a lack of tv display, it should increase the amount of viewing choices.
Yea only Bein1 and one of the Pop-ups is in HD
I'm currently in the US so have been watching games on Saturday mornings, it's been great! Any word on the on demand function for Bein Connect? Following this with interest for when I'm home as my flat won't split the costs for Sky.
Last weekend was magic. Still poorer for the experience forking out more money then I was a few years ago but that's competition for you.
Yea only Bein1 and one of the Pop-ups is in HD
sure noticed non HD.
i've just seen this on the beIN facebook page in response to a question dated 2 days ago
beIN SPORTS New Zealand Hi Stephen, beIN SPORTS CONNECT will not be available within the next few weeks. We are working hard to make the service available as soon as possible. Please stay tuned for future updates regarding release date, features, content and pricing.
that means at least another month, maybe longer...xmas maybe
How is this possible? They already have a platform they are using in other nations, Indonesia & Aussie to start with, but they can't get it to work here? Actually WTF!?!
Guess I'll be watching dodgy streams all year then.
Bugger, I was hoping it might be available after the first international break. Who knows now. What a cock-up.
