This sounds too good to be true. Do they have all the championship games or just a select few a week? pls respond
Viewing the Premier League (live) 16/17...
Also, how do you pronounce beIN? Is it 'bean' or 'been'?

I always thought it was as it looks: be-in?

pretty sure the BeIn package on SKY is two 24 hour programmed channels (BeIn 1&2) plus up to three pop up channels for live games.
Yes
yep you get access to beIn connect, which will show every game live. Unsure about on demand, and if they do have it seems as though it won't be available until 3-6 hours after the game.
these ones are not.
these ones are not.
these ones are not.
Pretty sure it's deemed irrelevant to have this service because if you have the package, you have access to the BeIN online products to watch the games. Sky aren't making any money on the deal so why would they bother to add to SkyGo when the people they are partnering with already offer the service?
If you're at home, watch on Sky
If you're out, watch on BeIN

but what if I'm just using my parents SKY Go, why don't SKY cater for me :-p

I was more thinking for mobile viewing. I used my tablet a lot for the midweek games the last couple of seasons, so hopefully beIN have apps for this
Bein connect Australia do have mobile apps. (android / ios). The user reviews are mixed - seems to have been rated better more recently.
I may be incorrect, but not only are we paying more to get the football channel, it also means less for those on normal sky. If I read it right, it says Champions and Europa league etc are now going to be on the Bein channels, when this year they were on normal sky.
I don't see why sky would do that if they get no money from the football channel. Maybe they'll double up and have games on sky sport channels too? (Or they really do get some money from the football channel)
Remember Bein got the rights to the CL for NZ and it was only at the last minute a deal with Sky was done so I guess either it will now go to the Bein channel or we'll get another game on that channel as aswell as Sky Sport. What annoyed me last season was that we got a game live on 2 channels, then both channels would show a game delayed immediately after except for the delayed one they both just showed the game that had been live on the other channel instead of 2 games that hadn't been shown. So each matchday we got 2 games screened twice each and the rest not at all. Perhaps we'll get all the CL games on Bein Connect?

Bein seem to also have League Cup rights, so hoping to see those. It could be worth geting/keeping Bein Au or Foxsoccer2go (US) for that coverage, rather than sky, depending on how you consume content in your home.
To be honest, it would be good to see some clarity out of Bein about their Connect offering in NZ, rather than via Sky.
The picture doesn't seem clear at all yet.
Personally I'm not convinced that we'll get the Bein online service included in the 11.96 for the 2x channels.

What gives you that impression.
It sounds a bit too good to be true to be getting the extra product at no extra cost, and there has been no word from Bein themselves yet.

I'm surprised they have that information more than a few days out from the first game being broadcast :p
The Premier League have announced the fixtures of the 2016–17 season. (Btw is there no broad Premier League thread on this forum? Seems kinda strange not to have one.)

Don't worry Sky won't get them until 2 days before the season starts...

Interviews don't convince me - he said in one of those interviews that they didn't know the euro kick-off times until a few days before the tournament as well, which was obviously untrue.
A proper offering in writing, with terms and conditions, will convince me!
Yeah think we really need some sort of confirmation from Bein themselves rather than "Sky understands you'll get that too..." Still sounds too good to be true to be getting the channels and the online product for $12 when the online product alone is going to be $18.

You can't get these channels on Sky for $12. The minimum spend to do so is $61.22*. To get it in HD would be $86.21.
You can see why many of us gave up on sky as soon as PLP launched, if not before.
*sky goes up in a week by 78 cents per month.
(Pricing assumes you can subscribe to the new channels without paying for Sky Sport- for example this is not possible currently, if you just wanted the rugby channel)
Yes obviously I know that. Would assume the majority of people taking the $12 Sky option already have Sky and continued to have it without the EPL, so was just talking about the extra you have to pay to get it. Anyone who only wants EPL would be unlikely to sign up to Sky when the $18 a month option is there instead unless they live in rural areas without access to broadband.
Sounds like the best deal possible. Was always going to cost more for the extra channels so that's about as expected, and if you can also get it online without Sky that's perfect. Should suit everyone. $11.96 a month is $143.52 a year so not much different to the $150 PLP cost the first 2 seasons, though you may not need it for 12 months unless other stuff worth watching is on it in the off season.
However, I imagine you'll have to subscribe to Sky Sports for $30 / month in order to also subscribe to the new beIN sports channels.
That's the situation with the Rugby Channel - you can't subscribe to that on its own.
So that will be $42 / month to watch football now ($30 Sky Sport plus $12 football channels).
Plus $50 / month Sky Basic.
Which will be $92 / month to watch football on Sky (Sky are upping their Basic and Sports package prices this week).
The good thing with Sky channels is you can subscribe when you want and drop them.
Premier League season is 10 months, so you could subscribe just for that.
I used to skip the first month of the EPL season and the off-season and subscribe to Sky Sport for only nine months of the year.
Sky always has special offers to encourage uptake on its channels from time to time - I got Rialto for half price for two months recently.
I'm sure they'll have a special introductory offer for their new beIN Sports channels too..
However $92 / month to watch football on Sky would be too steep for me.
I wonder if Sky will put the football coverage they've had this year from beIN like the Champions League, Europa League, Championship, Capital One Cup, Football League Play-offs etc. on their new football channels instead of the main Sky Sports channels?
I'd imagine they would.
See my earlier post on this thread (post number 32 on page 2) about how to watch all EPL matches for free live and on demand online on Star Sports India website using a VPN service which assigns you an Indian IP address.
They have it really good in India where you can legally watch all EPL games for free online, live and on demand.
Star Sport website also has live and on demand cricket and motorsport for free.
True they haven't said either way yet but would be surprised if Sky Sport wasn't required to get it.

Pretty sure they have said that you don't need sky sport, just sky basic.
Info on beIN Sports Connect online subscription service:
http://www.beinsportsconnect.com.au/newCustomers
In Oz it's $AU 17 / month or $AU 170 / one year sub
So $NZ 18 / month sounds right for us in NZ.
Football they offer:
http://www.beinsportsconnect.com.au/competitions
Will be a little different for NZ subscribers with added EPL (not available on beIN in Oz)
Hopefully, they'll have the same OZ coverage of Champions League, Europa League, la Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Scottish Premier, English Championship, Capital One Cup, German Cup, French Cup, Scottish Cup, CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers, European football internationals etc.
That really is an impressive lineup of leagues for only $18 month.
I'll probably ditch Sky and go with beIN Connect.
A-League and All Whites games I'll watch at my mum's since she has Sky!
Off topic in this thread, but i've had a-league streaming via livesport.tv for sometime. Requires a US or UK VPN. 54USD (with a 25% off coupon) for the year, all games live (no on-demand). No guarantee as yet they have the rights for next season.

It's off basic - that's been pretty clear.
Sky gets $102 from me currently I think..I will debate the extra EPL with my wife..may just settle for day after highlights on Boro FB page notwithstanding our glorious return after 8 years..
On huge Plus with BeIN connect is its Chromecast compatible. no more complicated setups to get it on the bigscreen.
