So what can we watch on beIN connect when it becomes available? Is it only EPL?
Viewing the Premier League (live) 16/17...
This new channel is ace. There's all sorts of good stuff on it.
when will they publish the weekends games..Im undecided about frequency of non top teams justifying extra as Im not a great watcher of general whole games.

8 live games, 2 delayed. Probably loads of replays on as it's 24/7.
All I need to know now is how to be able to get onto their online content as a Sky Subscriber. This has potential to be my best ever time for football and TV/online media.
What about free-to-air coverage in NZ? Last season TVNZ had one live game and a package of highlights later in the week. Anyone know what's happening? Cheers.
I'd say you're out of luck for anything legally free
just trying to pick out some of the questions to see if I can help.
- Only two out of the three pop ups are active at the moment as there isn't enough space to put up the 3rd one until after RIO - so assuming the EPL scheduling works in our favour we will have capacity to have 4 channels of EPL games live - should mean no delayed games.
- Champions league will have some games live (and delayed) on SKY Sport (just like last year) and some games live on beIN 2 - same kind of thing for Europa league
- beIN connect once available will be free for those with the $11.96 SKY deal (domestic customers) - not sure exactly what type of format this will take but I imagine it will be similar to PLP and hopefully it will be including all of the content beIN are licensed to show in NZ
- the beIN Sports website has a list of games for each weekend I think - this is the premier league one:
http://getbein.beinsports.com/nz/premier-league/ The info for other coverage (like La Liga) is a little less detailed.
Hopefully some of that helps.
Thanks Chopah, good info
I want live Championship games ! The few I have seen were actually better than the sterile EPL games at the time.

No more EPL coverage on TV One now that beIN have the rights and an exclusive deal to broadcast on Sky.
However, there is still some football on the Duke channel owned by TVNZ (ch. 13 Freeview, ch. 23 Sky).
Barcelona v Sampdoria friendly live tomorrow at 6.30 am on Duke channel.
Good to see there's still some football on Freeview.
Repeated tomorrow and Saturday afternoon.
Duke may still have a live Bundesliga match on the weekends and a highlights show as they did last season - Bundesliga doesn't kick off till 27 August NZT.

Thanx..I couldn't find that information. We are thru Vodafone so will chat with them 2moro.
I wonder what league Cup games they are showing tomorrow morning. Allegedly there's two. I watched Forest 4 Burton 3 this afternoon and it was an excellent watch. I loved how both teams played and kept in a pattern/shape, unlike the A League where everyone meets up inside the center circle and stick together thereafter.

Cheers for the info, Big Pete. Seems like the Bundesliga is our best hope for free-to-air football this season. I must admit that after watching a bit of it last year it kind of grew on me, apart from one or two dire commentators. Pity our own Marco won't be there to give the league a Kiwi flavour.
I'm still interested to know what content the Online Connect option will have and when it will be available. I have no interest in purchasing Sky at this stage!
I see only one of the 4 channels is listed as being in HD, anyone know if that's the case all season or if they're using their bandwidth on the Olympics at the moment???

It's true only bein 1 and the 3rd pop-up (launching after the olympics) will be hd
What's the justification for that? Presumably all the footage is received in HD. I asked that on the Bein NZ Facebook page and they ignored the question.
Sky has to pay for Satellite bandwidth.
Logged into the Sky website and Bein now appears on the list of upgrades so did it and typically it said "cannot process at this time, please try again later." But it appears on my list of subscriptions now so don't know whether have it or not. Not home to check until Sunday night so I'll call them when I have time to wait on hold to check.
sorted thru Vodafone..3 minutes whilst I got my wife who is account holder to verify it was okay to talk to me, 90 seconds to say what I needed and change account to both our names and then an hour for it to appear!
so the lesson there is don't leave it till 8pm Saturday night to subscribe - that will really tear your nighty..
Called this afternoon and they said it's there in my account. Not home til Sunday night to check the channels have appeared.
Upgraded using the yellow button on the TV.
Channels appeared instantly & was able to enjoy brief highlights of the 2008 Champions League Final .
Enjoyed seeing 2 of my "favourite players" Terry & Anelka seize their moment but was more surprised in jogging my memory that:
a) Anderson actually did at least 1 x useful thing in his United career by scoring a penalty.
b) Hargreaves managed to play a full 90 plus extra time (also scored a penalty) - didnt see that often enough & real shame his career was ultimately blighted by injuries.
Aspirationally I would like to see Boro on the HD channel at some stage this season not just the "pop up" channel ;>)

Cheers. Followed your instructions and Bein works here.

liked this little touch. was a good service
waiting for the streaming service
I've just come to the realisation that bein sports 1, is just a 24/7 premier league channel produced by premier league productions. Apparently this channel has been around for a few years. I wonder why it was never taken up by plp or sky? (Saw on one link it launched in 2010) this channel is offered to the international licensees. I think it is what Optus are using for their 24/7 channel.
Edit: so what I think this will mean is that on Saturdays they will picl the best match up of the 3 o'clock kickoffs, so lesser match ups will be put on the pop ups, I can see people complaining about this but it is really out of beins hands, they can only rectify with more pop ups. Also can see people complaining that the highlights show and goal round ups will be on before the games have been shown.

I don't think that's correct. They take a bunch of production direct from the premier league but there is a whole bunch of beIN stuff as well. And they have programming control.
This us awesome, watched Hull beat Leicester, now got spuds v evertonnon one channel, Palace v WBA on another and Boro v Stome on a 3rd. And they have a ting on one channel where they show any goals in other EP, games whilst shrinking the game you are watching on BeIn 1. This is awesome. Best $11.96 per month I have spent in a very long time.

Absolutely, and now I get up and there seems to be some sort of highlights show of last nights game, or I could watch any of the games I recorded. All without setting up the laptop or going through some pain getting the smart tv to play a website.
And I paid $20 per month last year so there is even more worth it.
Welcome home.
Did anyone manage to record any games successfully? At my parents place and they tried to record Spurs but it failed with "HW5" error code and didn't clash with anything else recorded. They called Sky who didn't know what HW5 meant and didn't seem to know what Bein Sports were either. Not really surprised it doesn't work, it was never going to go smoothly the first week given the shambles to get it.
I recorded games successfully... I did it remotely through the Sky app. Although initially it said I didn't have access to the channels to record, so had to uninstall and reinstall it, and then it worked.
Games recorded fine, watched some this morning.

I'm not so sure, if they do have programming control why wait until 5 o'clock tonight to show the burnley v Swansea game? Why wouldn't they put it on at 12 or 3 when they are showing the two games from the pop up channels??
On bein 1 I haven't seen any bein content, and when there is ads they just have promos for upcoming games or flashbacks which is all content from premier league productions.
Also the pre-game and half time stuff was coming from premier league productions not bein
They also do that horribly annoying thing where you're in the middle of watching one game and they switch over to another game to show a goal that just happened. And they also run an "other scores" down the bottom of the screen.
So if two games are on at the same time I can't watch it without ruining the score to other games I want to watch. Why do they do this? So annoying.
