Look at the bright side. At least we now have a team that can mau otherl teams, but I agree we need someone to tuck it away. I see that latest rumour is a Polish Striker from Krakow.

The new kid and Sears need regular football to prove they can do it. They either need to get starting spots or get loaned out. 10 minutes at the end shows nothing

I would prefer to see the loan option and give Tristan more time perhaps in place of Cole. I know thats tough on Cole but he's not the finisher we need. Cole and Tristan wouldnt make a good pairing.

With tonights game against Man City to come I reckon we need 25 more points out of our last 36 to finish 7th and get into Europe. Currently 33 points. A win tonight would put us into 7th place.
Just did a check on the last twelve seasons and the average points for 7th place was 57 varying from 59 to 53 over that period.
There seems no trend for increase or decrease over the last 12 years. The average to avoid relegation was 39.

Since this article we have picked up 11 out of 15 to have 44 at this stage, and the number of points to get 7th has probably dropped from my original estimate of 58.

Not much of a week for us really. Even though Davenport was on his way out, that action is like chopping of a pianists fingers.

Massive injury numbers over the last two years seemed to be coming right leading into this season, but Dyer's injuries continue and we still wait for Behrami and Gabbidon. Bought out by a billionnaire who goes broke, sold to a bank, who goes broke.
Then loosing to the yids this morning with that back pass to that Judas 2, its enough to drive you to go out and smack the sh*t out of someone.
Ohh, hang on. We've got Millwall on Tuesday, we'll all be unstressed by Wednesday, except for the guys who have to pay for the stadium damage.

Carlton is all we have at the moment but keep an eye out for a bloke by the name of Terry Dixon. We picked him up as a crock after Spurs had let him go.
He will fit in to the team very quickly because he has spent the last 12 months on the physio's table so he has met most of the team. Has established a great understanding with Ashton and Dyer.
19 year old Northern Ireland rep who is a Rooney look a like. He is starting training this week, so wont be seeing him for six weeks or so.

Dyer could be fit to finally play again this weekend. I just hope he doesnt get picked for England any time soon or the curse may continue.

I went to Hull last weekend and we were very unlucky.  We absolutely battered them - they had 2 shots on target and scored three times (one was an own goal).  Clattenburg was a joke - not just the penalty but a load of f**king awful decisions throughout the game.  We really need that cutting edge in front of goal, although with the Swiss Beckham and Collison back and fit we are looking good in midfield.  Entertaining train ride home with 3 "right prowpa naughty geezers"  with plenty of old (and new) ICF stories.

If we can't beat Burnley at home then we don't deserve to be in the top flight. Simple as that.

Im a bit concerned about the Xmas period - Cole out for an unspecified time, Behrami out for 3 weeks and Upson still injured. Time for some of the younger lads to step up.

We were well in the game until that second bloody goal. Diamante seems to be coming good. Seems to be good at taking free kicks. Hopefully he can bang in one or two in the next few matches and give the rest of the team a lift.  I remember it took tevez a few months to come good and once he scored that first goal against Spurs he was the man after that.

The one I found hardest to pick was the 2nd striker alongside PDC. I ummed and aaahed about Tevez because he was only with us for such a short time, and was tempted also to pick Ashton as we were a different team when he was playing. Teddy Sheringham was a great signing too of course, and was definitely one of my favourites from the 'noughties'. In the end I chose Tevez for no other reason that his influence in that one season was huge and without him there is no doubt we were gonners.

The Malaysian entrepreneur, a self-confessed Irons fan, is the latest name to be linked with a takeover, as David Gold, who recently sold his stake in Birmingham, and the London-based Intermarket Group are also planning to make a formal offer.

We need to pick up some points these next few games. Bolton has 2 games in hand and our fixture list heading into seasons end looks pretty rough. 

Jason Burt has written an article for the Telegraph suggesting that Tony Fernandes is about to bit for the club, in addition to Intermarket, who, according to Burt, are going to submit their own bid tomorrow.

Malaysian entrepreneur Tony Fernandes appears poised to launch a takeover bid for West Ham United. Fernandes, the founder and driving force behind the highly successful AirAsia airline, is a lifelong West Ham supporter and has been in sporadic talks about taking a stake in the Premier League club for several months.

Telegraph Sport disclosed in November that Fernandes had met West Ham chairman Andrew Bernhardt in Kuala Lumpur but the pair could not agree a deal. Talks have continued with, it is believed, Fernandes finally deciding that he wants to invest in the club.

Indeed it is possible that a resolution to West Ham�s ownership may be found this week even though the club�s owner, CB Holding, maintains it is in no hurry to sell.

Two other bidders have submitted offers. Last week David Sullivan, the former Birmingham City co-owner, underwent the second stage of the due diligence process. On Monday night the Intermarket Group claimed it had met Rothschild, the bank that has been engaged by Bernhardt to sift through the offers, and will formally submit a bid in writing on Tuesday.

Even so, it is Fernandes�s bid that has caused the greatest excitement given his track-record for innovative ideas, flair and growing businesses as well as his passion for sport. He is also team principal of the Lotus Formula One team. The businessman is also firmly committed to supporting manager Gianfranco Zola and met the Italian after the Boxing Day victory over Portsmouth.

Fernandes, 45, is expected to attend Sunday�s league match at home to Wolves and there is a sense of anticipation around West Ham that the club may be able to make a positive announcement prior to the fixture which could provide a launchpad for the rest of their season.

I'm trying not get too excited about a takeover as they always turn out to be full of broken promises...dreams that fade and die, you might say.( Remember Eggy saying the club would be in the CL within 5 years?..ha ha ha).

But the thought of a lifelong fan owning the club (whether its Fernandes or Gold/Sullivan) is pretty cool. The Fernandes option seems the better of the two. Gold etc didn't exactly do a heck of a lot for Brum; while Fernandes is a supporter of GZ (as I am) and I am sure he would be prepared to give GZ the funds he needs to strenghten the squad.
