I think the last two results show just why us West Ham fans have spoken recently about the desire to change managers. From what we've seen this season are we that far off being in another relegation battle next season? I don't think so.

Yes we've done well considering the injuries but I'm still not convinced.

Or perhaps I'm just being a paranoid git.

The injuries will always hang in our minds. Would we have been up in the top six now with them all fit, and if so would Curbishley be able to handle the pressure that would come on him. I suppose it is fair to say, he did when we were fighting relegation. But we had a rub of the green a couple of times. We will probably not see the potential of what might have been because a new Manager will see things different and bring in his own players.

The last two performances have shown we are boys against men. Neill can have a one way flight home tomorrow. Put Pantsil in.
If we are going to play like boys then put the kids in. Sears, Reid, Tomkins and Collison. Play Ashton for 90 minutes every game untill the end of the season and make him run shuttles at half time. Then decide whether he is worth keeping.   Play Bellamy and Parker as on field coaches. Them walking around out there and talking to the pkayers would be a greater contribution to the youngsters than any comment that may come from the dugout. Put Curbish;ley 10 rows back in the stand to learn about what the fans want to see.

Give Green the Player of the year cup now and McCartney the most improved.
Place an add in the Newham Recorder for a new manager.

So who's to blame for this recent trouncing?

Is it the manager? Is it cos we didnt spend in January? Are the players not fit?

One thing is for sure... it is very concerning that we can let in 8 goals but not even score 1... esp with the proclaimed better back four in the prem.

Im still on the fence about Curbs. I think time will tell. If he does have an arsenal of $$$$ to spend in the summer, is he just gonna buy the old Charlton team back?

Wrong again!!  I've taken it on the chin.  We had all the possession and didn't score.  They did, end of story. I hope they go on and win it.

Just shows what a cruel and unpredictable mistress football is and why we love her so much.  Just when you think you have her sussed she goes and surprises you again.

Playing Boa Morte is like playing an injured player. You know he wont last and it could leave you with 10. How many times this season have you seen him booked and then dragged to keep 11 on the field. This time Curbishley gambled on getting to half time with him and lost.  He isnt on his own either. Neill continues to provide an invitation for a second yellow whenever he is booked. Piss poor team players, and Ljungberg was no better today.

Re Curbishley sacking. I picked up some info last week that the appointment of the footbasll director was due in the next week or so, Curbishley was on his way at the end of the season and the club are in talks with 2 quality internationals. I didnt bother posting because it all seemed so vague. The internationals could just be peolpe like Shorey and Bent.

Mancini reveals Inter quit plan
<!-- S BO --><!-- S IIMA -->
Mancini has guided Inter to two Serie A titles
<!-- E IIMA --><!-- S SF -->Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini intends to leave the Serie A champions at the end of the season.

Mancini, 43, revealed his plan to leave Inter after their Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool on Tuesday.

Fernando Torres's second-half goal gave Liverpool a 1-0 win in the San Siro and a 3-0 aggregate victory.

Only last week Inter president Massimo Moratti described Mancini as the best coach in the history of Inter along with Nerazzurri legend Helenio Herrera. <!-- E SF -->

"I know I still have four years to run on my contract but the next two-and-a-half months will be my last guiding Inter," said Mancini.

"I've told the lads and it's right to tell everyone. It's a decision I've taken and has nothing to do with this defeat."

Mancini took over as Inter coach in 2004 and led the club to the Serie A title in his first two seasons.

The first title was only won after Juventus and AC Milan were demoted and deducted points due to a match-fixing scandal.

Inter currently lead Serie A by six points from AS Roma and are through to the semi-finals of the Italian Cup.

Earlier this season Moratti reportedly held talks with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, though the club and the Portuguese denied it.

Last season Inter also exited the Champions League at the first knockout stage.

Sing it loud. Sing it proud...

(Don't forget it was the same fixture last season that turned our season around. And funnily enough I think it may have been following that awful loss to the Yids too??)

Wow. I sense that Sears' goal was a piece of West Ham folklore that we will all remember for a long time. I thought he always looked like scoring.

Ashton ran his arse off all game and Sears was the same. It showed just what kind of a player he is to follow up his strike with a diving header towards goal. it will take a brave manager to leave him on the bench next week.

I thought Ashton, Sears and Noble all combined well and could be a huge attacking threat for us.

Question marks remain over our defense. Upton should be back for the Toffees game though.

I would think they will not over expose Sears but he would be a great 20 minute player. I just hope that Bellamy is fit and stays next season, because Sears will and already has learnt from him. They are similar players and Sears replacing Bellamny with fresh legs would not loose a lot.

Dont know whether Curbs would play Noble alongside Parker, two attacking players. Upson due back this week possibly Coles and Faubert as well, Bellamy due 1st week April. No news lately about Etherington or Gabbidon.
More good news is that Boa Morte still has 2 weeks of his suspension to serve. I think Quashie may have packed a sad. Never gets mentioned in dispatches and has been out with a "foot injury" since end of last season.

Official Announcement, ( after everyone's unofficial announcements as usual) about football director due tonight. Will be interesting to see what effect this has. He is due to start in June. Still plenty of noise about Bilic, and I see that a senior exec at Charlton has said they would take Curbishley back if he lost his job.

Everton will be firing after losing to Fulham. They play Liverpool after us, so they may have their eye on that one.
Starting line up for Everton should be Green, McCartney, Ferdinand, Upson, Painstil, Ljungberg, Noble, Parker, Solano, Zamora, Ashton. but I think Mullins and Neill will get the nod.

Yeah I agree Noble will be likely to come off the bench. A great sub to bring on to add some spark, and I think you're right that Sears won't get a start just yet. But boy, what a great double substitution to bring on if we're in need of a goal.

Q: Who would you rather play when Matty E is fit? Him or ljungberg? For mine its Etherington, but a hard call to make. Ljungberg doesn't seem to have the legs anymore.

I've heard that Ferdinand is out for 3 weeks with a leg injury.

Means we could see another academy player on the pitch in James Tomkins.

Sadly I think Ethers has lost it, past seasons he hasn't the bottle to get past players, lost confidence. think Ljungberg has the experience to play the position well.
