Now that christiano has gone, this race seems to have been blown wide open...

Tried to cover most bases but I've bound to have missed some very good players... if you pick other let it be known who...

Wilson "the tazmania devil" Palacios will rip it this season with Spurs. The Honduras Midfielder is real class. Will be better than Dimitar Berbatov at ManU.

No Bolton player to be biased with?

Seriously, Guess it will have to be Torres if he can stay match fit through the season

Blatantly Arshavin. He was probably the best player in the league once he'd settled earlier this year, he's running hot in the pre-season and will hit the ground running come the start of the season.

Best at what? I mean you've got Vidic from a position not normally popular in these sorts of polls but no Essien? This guy was a knob  when he first came to the EPL but Chelsea are nowhere near the same team without him.

Maybe he should rename the thread "who is most likely to be voted player of the year"

although that award was a bit of a joke last year as they awarded it to Giggs as more of a long service award.

Have renamed the poll - i meant to mention it was for the actual award in my post but had overlooked it...
Essien should've been an option in the poll, he is class  - i knew i would've forgotten one or two...

Vidic is there because last year he was well in the running for player of the year, it was well documented.

Really can't see Rooney getting it... I reckon he's got worse than he was a couple of years ago despite odd flashes. Though yea never know, the English will keep blindly thinking he's god.

With Ronny out of the picture though? He has the workrate and ability.

We need ESPNs stat team on this one, They would tell us how many times Rooney assisted Ronaldo comapared to visa-versa.
