No, and what a great team that was !!!!!! Van Basten's hattrick against England was memorable as well as Gullit's dreds and the win against the Germans.

We're lacking a token dreaded player with Melchiot injured and Davids not there anymore.

When do you think the eventual bust-up due to racial tensions will occur? I'm tipping during the half time speech of the final.

I think that would be more likely in the French team than in the Dutch team.

No I don't

I was basing my comment on the fact that (from when I last saw them anyway) the French team looked more multi-racial than the Dutch team.

Multi racial maybe, but not multiple racists, which was the Dutch squads problem in the past.

How good was that? One of the most entertaining games I've ever watched. Van Basten realised the team was making a mistake holding back after the 1st goal and just went for it. Not often you see that in such a vital game. Van Nistelrooy's turn, Robben's quick reply, Sneijder's beaut...amazing stuff.

Wasn't all one way traffic though. If France had got that penalty it could've been a whole different game - but that's football! The luck seems to be going our way at the moment.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

I second that Buffon. I half expected Van der Sar to have a gallop.

Should we drop the game against the Draculas?

Nah, gotta keep the momentum going. But i would love to see both France and Italy gone in the Group stage.

Three for me, and two for them.

If we twat the Krauts at some stage I'm willing to call this our best tournament ever, win or lose.

Haven't had a chance to post since Satudays drubbing of the frogs, but seeing as I'm still  buzzing from it, thought I'd just pop in.

What a game! Like others have said, one of the most entertaining games I've watched in a while.

If we keep up the form we've got at the moment, we'll storm the lot of 'em (fingers crossed)...

Milky, love your "dwarf wrestling" avatar. As if dwarf wrestling isn't great enough on its own, throw in a face-slide and it becomes trouser-soilingly funny.

Just wondering about watching the Dutch game on Wednesday.  Does anyone know which game will be on at the Backbencher as both matches are at the same time.  Or will both be on?

Both games will be live, and both on big screens. one in the back bar, one in the restaurant.

3 from 3. Looks like a probable match up with Sweden again in the Quarters, just like 4 years ago.

ORANJE!!!

Three for me, and two for them.

Could be Russia, don't underestimate them. I'm sure Hiddink would love to match up against the Dutch in the quarters.

Not underestimating them at all EG, just stating that the probable opponent will be the Swedes.

Three for me, and two for them.

I guess they are in a better position at the moment, but I prefer the way Ruskies play these days over the Swedes. Actually quite looking forward to that game tomorrow morning.

Yes i agree EG, in fact any team that Hiddink is in charge of is guaranteed to play attacking football and be good to watch.

Three for me, and two for them.

Not sure which team I'd rather face, but given the outstanding performances we've had so far, whoever it is better bring their best game.

Unlike Romania this morning, who played sh!tballs, almost laughable football at times...

IMO Russia will win. I'd much rather face Sweden though because they only have one real weapon and he's a lazy bastard. That and the fact that Guus will know our tactics intimately.

Remember the other Dutch Orlando? Played for Sheffield Weds for a while? He had an even better name.
Ladies and Gents, I give you, Orlando Trustfull.

The Swedes play as if Jack Charlton is their coach. Crap to watch and as Valeo says, one decent player right now - Ibrahimovic- and even he only looks up for it half the time.
On the subject of Romania, they were very limited. I'd imagine the first choice Dutch side would have put 6 past them.

Well, they couldn't put any past them in the qualifying...but agreed, they were very disappointing this morning, especially considering that they had everything in their own hands and just didn't seem to turn up...
