When The AW's played Honduras (which, incidentally drew a bigger crowd than the game in Wellington against Paraguay) at NHS, there were free buses from various points in Auckland including down town.

From memory, only marginally bigger. Given your bigger much population and iirc your game was on the weekend and ours was midweek. But yeah sure, go Auckland.
How. Its proven time and time again that midweek means smaller crowds for various reasons. Therefore its an unfair comparison between a midweek and a weekend game, or at the very least it should be taken into account along with population and the fact that aucklands crowd wasn't all that much bigger (from memory)

Different culture, smaller population - so more difficult for a lot of the fans who would normally turn up on the weekend to go on midweek because of the resulting further distance from the stadium.
There are a number of factors that make it different than those that sell out overseas.
But that'd be off topic :)

so when will this team come together for the national league? Bazley wont be about at u19 to watch players, and surely until then he will be focusing on u17s?

Appointment makes perfect sense from a continuity point of view. The current U17 crop has some very promising talent and the hope would be that they would form the backbone of the U20 team for 2015. Very good appointment imho.

Basically I still don't see the point of NZU20 in ASBP when I think at least 5 or 6 (the heart) will be playing elsewhere then coming into that set up before the tournament

I still think they have sort of missed a trick and could have made the draw a lot better. Not so happy to see it being such North Harbour centric.

Under 17 final in 99 sold out. For the women's U17 in 2008 smart marketing saw lots of schools given tickets which meant stadia looked good on TV. There will be good numbers at these games, and remember FIFA choose the venues - they control the tournament

Wrong, wrong, wrong!!! Actually when we hosted the FIFA u-17 World Cup in 1999 attendances were very good - I remember large crowds at QEII Stadium for group games - many thousands just at group games and that pattern was repeated all around NZ.
Even the Third place Play-off attracted 15,675 to North Harbour in the rain!

We will get bigger attendances at the u-20 World Cup. Turkey was not typical at all! (even the u-17 World Cup usually attracts big crowds: Mexico 2011 avge attendance was 19,275 !!!)

Oceania Executive meeting over the weekend in Auckland decided on changes to Oceania qualifying for FIFA age group tournaments:
• Agreed that the OFC qualifying format for future FIFA age group World Cups will be:
o Changed from U-17 and U-20 Championships to U-16 and U-19 Championships to allow successful teams at least one year to prepare for the World Cup.
o The new age-group format to begin for the OFC U-19 Men’s Championship from May 22 to 30, 2014.

I was surprised at how much of the survey was about prospective ticket prices. Be interesting to see what price I have to pay to attend every game in my home town. Wonder if they are checking in on their forecast budgets?
Realistic traveling fan numbers will be small (max 1,000 for larger teams?) for a youth World Cup, right? Hope they ensure plenty of freebie tickets for school kids to boost crowds.

Then you do not want to miss any public releases of information or you won't get to it in 2015. But have to watch TV. Early bird venue tickets gunna be a bargin.
