Be part of the team that will make sporting history in New Zealand in 2015. Registration is now open!

The FIFA U-20 World Cup, FIFA’s second largest tournament, is to be held in New Zealand between 30 May and 20 June 2015 and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) is looking for 1,500 volunteers, who will be essential to making it a success. You could be one of them!

I got the email the other day, I worked the Womens U-17 tournament as a VIP driver and it was awesome. So hoping for the same job again

Were you able to get to the games as well? or is an either/or situation?

Got to the games as well. That was the cool thing, I drove them around Wellington and got from airports (was based at Intercontinental) but also drove them to Westpac and stayed. Watched the games then drove them back to the hotel or next function. I loved it. Got to see the NZ girls win.

But did you get invited to after match parties?

No unfortunatly, did get meals etc and I got to go into corporate box for one game. But to be honest I preferred the volunteer area that is that walkway just by where Yellow Fever sits. Much more fun to be out in the stadium.

Yeah ive never been a fan of corporate boxes, or the Deloitte's lounge. I often turn down tickets to these in favour of regular seating.

Definitely applying to volunteer for this. I did so for the Women's U-17 tournament back in 2008 and it was by far the best job i have ever had.

Three for me, and two for them.

I've only been once but they seem more fun for the eggball, where the alternative is freezing your ass off in the middle of a still, silent crowd. The lounge has nothing on the fever zone experience, even when the zone is having an off day.

Anyone got a phone number for the volunteer office?  Have found their communication appaulling.  Sent a few emails over the last 3 weeks and had no response.  And yes I did have the correct email address.

Pretty shit considering I'm offering my time.  Surely they'd be desperate for people

Hello guys, are there any team liaison officers out there?  I've been asked if I'm interested to liaise with the Qatar team here in Hamilton and I'm wondering if I accept what I will be in for...I've looked at the 'job description' and it looks full on.

Freebie invite for 2022? Watering the camels?

PS See you there. Qatar v Colombia and Qatar v Portugal two of mine.

How was it being a driver? Who do you drive and do you use one of the events cars?
