If we win hosting rights with Aussie, is there likely to be a good windfall for our governing bodies coffers. Would love a cash injection so we can afford to host friendlies etc.

As New Zealand's part bid seams rushed and there are lack of hotels etc to host teams and traveling fans at some venues. Low balling Australia like that is pretty bad if that's the case.

You are probably too young to remember, but we did once host FIFA's second biggest event all by ourselves. Pretty sure we can find enough hotels to be a co-host for this
Bitch plz! if this bid fails its on NZF head, FACT. Australia has done everything possible where as NZF has just leeched and not even promoted it. In fact Nix have done a lot more for this bid by trying to get the W-League side over the mark to help the women's game and prep players for this world cup.

What are you on about? FIFA gave our bid 4.1 out of 5, rating it above everyone else with almost perfect scores on stadium and accommodation there is obviously nothing wrong with our bid.

It would be a huge shock if we did not get it. The remaining competition is a basket case. It will be great for football in Australasia and a huge boost for the woman’s game. NZ and Australia will run a good tournament, as past history shows.
The only thing that bugs me about these things is they get pumped up out of proportion to what they finally deliver. There are stories of $500 million economic benefit, creation of thousands of jobs, huge influx of tourism, average crowds of 25,000. We got told this stuff before we hosted the Youth World football Cup. We ran a great show but the international visitors did not show up. You read the same BS about the Americas Cup.
The government report on the 2015 U20 world cup shows the tournament boosted NZ GDP by $30.4 million. It attracted over 3,600 international visitors, generating 52,650 international visitor nights with an average visitor stay of 14.3 nights. Over 300,000 spectators attended 52 matches across the seven host cities.
The U20 world cup doesn't generally get a huge amount of traveling fans where as the full world cups will - all you need is teams like Germany, England and Scotland to qualify and you will get a large amount of travelling fans

Going by twitter and fourfourtwo forum, Australians have already conceded defeat. Its a shame the New Zealand government didn't get behind the bid like Aus gov have it just might have helped. I just knew NZF would stuff this up again.

Is now going to be a real challenge for FFs coach post Olympics next year (whoever that maybe), trying to refresh the team, blood some youngsters etc. May have to drop the odd very experienced player.
Will be a few of the older brigade obviously now very tempted to try stay on until 2023 (who could blame them), when they might have otherwise retired post Tokyo.
