LOL given the results this week looks like even reseeding wouldn't change it as Top 4 would be:

Yakcalls   10-3

NPaul  9-4

RMTC 9-4

Seanucks 7-6

I'm thinking that scrapping divisions would be best now. Made sense with 10 teams, but since the expansion having divisions makes less sense.

Ha - never doubted the process.

I think if we ever got to 14 teams we could look to go with no divisions - everyone would play each other once.  With 12, you have two extra games which can be unfair if your two additional games are against harder teams.

Edit: Actually I suppose you could say the same with the divisions and who you play.

yep. That effect is actually worse with divisions.

2017 Rule changes?

Divisions => I am for the removal of divisions, and making it one table of 12, everyone plays everyone once, and has 2 double ups

Option A) Seeded Double Ups, eg 1st, 2nd, 3rd (2016) play each other twice in 2017, 4/5/6, 7/8/9, 10/11/12

Option B) Random double Ups, ie I would do a draw using random.org each season to group teams

Option C) Rotation Double Ups, I'd come up with a rotating schedule so that over 6 seasons you'd have a double up with each team once.

RB/WR vs FLEX

I'd like a discussion around our starting line-ups, first thought was turning the RB/WR position into a FLEX which would mean a TE could be used in this slot as well, another thought was adding an OP slot to our teams, but again this is just a thought, if asked I would lean the FLEX change, and no OP, but want to hold a discussion around it.

Defensive Scoring

My thoughts here as follows:

Basis of points is currently on Points scored, but feel this punishes teams with bad Offense (short fields, pick 6 etc), should we make the main score decider yards allowed? This would more reflect the best defences, I'd still include bonuses for keeping low scores, and negative for allowing high scores, but the general points would be for getting less yards conceded.

TDs => Adjusting the Defensive TDs so they are all worth 6pts, as currently they don't all seem to line-up

2 PT Turnovers => I missed this being added to scoring, but can include points for if a DST returns a 2pt attempt for a TD (2pts)

Anyone else got rules they would like to discuss?

And also, I have updated my TRADE BLOCK as we head towards the end of this season, am open to some discussions now that I am out of the playoff race.

I'd encourage everyone else to follow suit as this makes it much easier when trying to make moves.

For Divisions, I think seed the match ups (Option A)

I think go Flex allowing RB/WR/TE

Your defensive change, you mean that the D/ST could potential earn more points, I'm not sure how the first bit works?

I personally quite like the divisions as I feel it brings a little something extra than just having a list of 12 people.  In saying that, if the majority feel like we should ditch, then I'd probably prefer option C.  This is probably more work for Jono each year though - on that basis I'd be happy to go with any of the options.

I have enjoyed the 2QB league I'm in this year, but think that it is quite a large change in philosophy from what we currently have built our squads on.  So would prefer making it a Flex next year. I wouldn't mind making it an OP position if we said it was to take place in 2/3 seasons from now (if we are still going).  Gives us all a bit of time to build towards it.

Think I prefer the status quo with D/ST.  But don't really have any strong opinions about it.

I'd definitely be for making the RB/WR slot into a RB/WR/TE position, I'd be slightly wary on changing to an OP position given the completely different dynamic in 2QB leagues. It would further restrict the already depleted QB stocks (only 1 or so starter available on the WW currently) - but agree with Linley, would need a season or two's warning to adjust/draft a few extra QBs!

I thought the defenses currently got 6pts for pick 6s? Would that suggestion be including special teams TDs into defenses, ie punt/kickoff returns too?

I prefer scrapping divisions, makes the scheduling more even and who makes the playoffs more fair. Option B or C. You still have something to play for, and one division makes it easier to tell who is in what division.

1-4 championship playoffs

5-8 consolation pick

9-12 avoid the spoon (can add another consolation pick for 9th too).

2 QB is quite a large change. My reaction is that I don't really like it, no real idea as to why.

As for defence, I have found that some good defences are getting punished because of a bad offence. But logically wouldn't a good offence also reward a bad defence, even if the measure was yards allowed? I'm not too fussed about it, it's just something yo have to factor in when picking Defence.

my preferences are....

- no divisions and random double ups

- Flex (because I always seem to have garbage RBs and WRs, and ok TEs)

- never understood the defensive scoring, and probably never will so happy to go with the flow on that one

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

So my arse was saved by Bell to give me a 25.9 point lead going into the 2nd game

Billikids currently leading #2 place NP by 27 points

Boars lead Usos by 25.2 points in the consolation ladder

A very close match up between Suspension and Hammers with the later holding a 2.6 point advantage

Down the bottom you see Lambeau under management control behind Troopers by 14.8 points

and finally you see Swarlos with the biggest lead after game 1 beating Fairies by 32.8 points

Thankfully someone else has the time to do updates...my year didn't go how I wanted/needed, sorry updates not as good as before...

Looks to be improving now so through the offseason I'll get back on top. (1. Catch-up on the records, 2. Catch-up on trophies, 3. Start prep for Rookie draft)

So couple of questions:

1) Should I create a separate thread for rules discussion & thoughts?

From what I have seen it looks like people lean towards no divisions & random draw, a Flex Position & also no change to DST.

I might actually send an email after the End of Season wrap-up. in it I will ask people for thoughts on rules and a link to a newly built thread for the 2017 Rookie Draft :)

I think we can just leave rules discussion in here. Its not an overly active thread anywhere just a separate thread for rookie draft. We really need to do more trash talking!

Happy with no divisions, agree on the flex for and no change to D/ST.

Well I'll kick things off with a Cousin and Reed are going to tear you a new one tomorrow Yakcall. And you will 'like that'.

they'll combine for 50, Newton will scrape together 15, and I'll win by 0.8pts...!

Also not one to whinge, but the Chiefs.. pretty much first play of the game they hand off to Tyreek Hill who scores a fairly handy 68y TD, then he doesn't see the ball again, (might've had one overthrown target late in the 3rd...) Reid and the coaching staff there are a pack of idiots...Fastest guy in the NFL...1 play...boo!

I have to say it doesn't surprise me, with them up by two TDs early, and holding that all the way until the 4th quarter, what I am surprised about is that they didn't give it to him in the 4th quarter...

So I win and through to the finals against Billikids. Didn't help Deek's Reed trying to throw a punch and getting ejected, still if he stay it wasn't going to be enough.

Would prefer if he blows out his knee.

Will probably play Big Ben this week, so either we'll both have a good game or you'll have a great game from Bell and I'll be left with 2 fantasy points.

Here is hoping for the 2nd one as it is looking like that might be the only way I can beat you. Just lacking in the WR to make up the difference

I don't have much in the way of depth, can't play Kelvin Benjamin again, so any injuries during the week or if Green doesn't come back, I'll be screwed.  Possibility that EE doesn't play in week 17 as well.

FFS - just seen that Le'Veon is against the Browns in week 17.  That could literally be a murder.  Can Pittsburg rap up a playoff spot this week and therefore not need to play their best guys in week 17?
