Going to be an excellent final. Looking forward to it, wondering if I'll get in trouble for spending my Monday watching the NFL ;-) (Got away with it this week as wife was still at work)

At kick-off of the Pitt vs Cincy game I will increase the Roster size (+7) & adjust the waiver order to match our Rookie Draft order. THis means all players will be locked and going through waivers on Wed Night NZ Time, and will be picked up in order if you want them.

The Rookie Draft will be scheduled to start the Saturday after the NFL Draft, will just run it in here (Will start a new thread for the draft), with 24hr periods for each team to make their choice or it skips on, a player that misses their turn can make their pick at any time, but must be before their next pick comes back.

I will post a list of Rookies we can draft in the thread opening post, listed as First Round, Second Round, Third Round, Rest Drafted (Rounds 4-7), and Undrafted (Signed with teams).

Congrats to Mos Eisley Troopers on the Inaugural Championship, a great Finale to the season, was close until the 4pm games. Great team building, now looking forward to the offseason.

I may have to come up with a solution involving everyone emailing me lists of players in order they want to pick up and doing it with a waiver system myself and spreadsheet to keep track of players...

Well done MET - clearly the best team in the league with the best regular season record as well.

Now to hope that half your players retire to give someone else a chance next year!!

Hey Jono - am I able to pick someone off waivers now, or is that going to completely screw things up?

Go for it.

I was planning on increasing roster sizes...Going to investigate what I can do with a quick set-up myself and see if I can make it work...

Hope people are enjoying the playoffs! Currently watching the Lions vs Cowboys game, as a Redskins fan I hope the Lions win.

Looking ahead to Superbowl, I have taken the Monday off and am looking to book a table at Four Kings/Five Stags for anyone that is keen.

Sweet, Four Kings have been in touch and can do a booth. So I'll book one for us for around 10ish, they asked about bar tab but I said probably best people just fend for themselves.

Got an email saying there was some conversation about this on twitter, but I don't use that anymore - I am more into Bebo and Myspace at the moment.  Slight change of plans on my side, as I now have to go to Christchurch on Monday or Tuesday that week. I am in some high level negotiations at the moment but unfortunately my wife has seen the aftereffects of me spending an entire afternoon in the pub too many times to be fooled by any of my clever tactics. Latest seems to be about 90% that I will be there for the whole day, but will confirm shortly.

Terrible rule. While call is technically correct, a normal person would call that a catch!

Yup. Some stuff is just a bit nutty.
I don't get how diving for a TD isn't a football move.

I think you nailed the contentious point.

I looked at it and thought, he has completed the catch and made a stretch for the TD (a football move)

Whereas referee didn't see the football move, and saw it all as the one action to complete the catch. Given that, they made the right call.

It was very slight, But I do think he made a move for the line. It could've gone another way on another day. One of the tighter calls you'll see at such a crucial time!

I think the other silly part of this for a "catch" vs for a rush...if a RB gets handed the ball for the run, but never gains possession properly, but his knee hits the ground that is a down for the knee hitting the ground, whereas same thing happens here for Dez, his knee hit the ground, but it's not down cause ball went through the air

on the other hand, anything that makes a completed pass harder to stem the inflation of passing stats is probably good....

it is not like Dallas did not get enough luck in the game last week against Detroit.

So it seems that I am available for the Superb owl in a few Monday's time. Looking for a Seahawks vs Colts match, with a Katy Perry nipple slip in the half time show.

I'm predicting a Seahawks vs Patriots final. Think the Seahawks look too good for the Packers and Patriots always do enough to win.

Yup I'd agree with that, in fact I'd almost bet on a Patriots Title this year...

The "Come from behind" award to me.... Going from lowest ranked in playoffs to winning the extra draft spot.

"I didn't draft this team" award for not being there on drafting day but still getting a winning team.

"Atleast you tried" award to Frankie...

(Sorry for the long post - just started writing.....)

End of season wrap up for my team:  Rammtallica Billikids:

Regular Season - Record of 7-6 with 1,382 points scored & 1,373.5 points against.

Post-season - finished 8th (or perhaps 7th)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall I was very pleased win my regular season record.  My plan going into the draft was to go with very young players and hoping that my team would be competitive in say 3-4 years time.  To have a winning record at the end of the regular season was very promising (although I do admit quite lucky given I had the second least points scored against me).

As Jono noted when he did his round up of the first five draft rounds – I completely missed the boat when it came time to select a Running Back.  My first RB selected (Round 5) ended up being 3rd on the depth chart and didn’t play more than a couple of snaps in any game.  My next RB wasn’t selected until Round 12.  This meant that I spent most of the year scrambling for RB points as I didn’t have any first choice RB’s on my team.

With the exception of AJ Green, I didn’t really have any ‘elite’ WR’s, but I stacked my team with youngsters which I hope will pay dividends in the next couple of years.

Cam Newton's injury early in the season and the struggling offensive line in Carolina meant that I didn’t get the points I was hoping for from QB.  Again, I’m hopeful that will change over the next few years.  In meantime I was banking on the high intensity offence of the Eagles to get me points at QB which had mixed results.  Blake Bortles still very much a work in progress who I may have to dump next year.

At TE Jimmy Graham had a very disappointing year (especially as he was my 2nd round pick).  I’m still pleased to have him though with the TE pool looking pretty weak.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Going forward I think I’ve managed to plug some of the gaps in my team which should hopefully make me more competitive next year.

At QB I’ll likely just be sticking with the three I have, hoping for less injuries and improvements for Bortles and for Carolina to give Cam a few more weapons around him (and some protection).

At RB I’ve picked up Tre Mason who had some promising performances and of course taking the gamble with AP.  Will hope that he’s out to prove a point next year (should he come back into the league).  Ahmad Bradshaw also had some good performances before his injury.  They’ll likely be my main three guys for next year with some back ups (Asiata & Blount) to play in favourable match-ups.

My late, late season (re)pick up of Turbin could be interesting if Lynch doesn’t go back to Seattle – I’ll then have Turbin & Michael who should then be 1 & 2 on the depth chart.  Of course if Lynch returns then they will probably be wasted bench spots.

At WR I think I have plenty of depth and it is just a case of using the right guys in the right weeks.  Lots of young guys – 5 rookies this year and 2 in their second year.  AJ Green is my most experienced in his 4th season (this year) and aged 26.  Of my 5 rookies, I would say they would all be in the top 10 WR’s rookie receivers.

Subject to injury, at TE I’ll likely just stay with Graham and Kelce.  Can’t see many changes happening there.

I’m pretty happy to end the year with the Texans & Colts defences.  Although I was hopeful that Clowney would provide more for the Texans.

Kicker is a kicker.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Best pick-ups off the waiver wire – Rob Gronkowski & Ahmad Bradshaw.

Worst drop to the wire – Alfred Blue

Best trade result – Tre Mason + 3rd round pick for Denard Robinson

Worst trade – Chris Johnson for Rob Gronkowski – this has to be the worst trade of the season with the only thing that slightly tempers matters being that I got Gronk for free off the wire anyway.

Hey guys, so we have out final teams. Seahawks vs Patriots!

I have a table booked at Four Kings that I'll probably get to when it opens for breakfast if people want to join me. Table holds about 10 people and I think I have 5 people coming so if you have a mate that wants to come, there will be room.

Yeah I thought they were done too, love 4th quarter come backs when it doesn't involve my Skins losing it.

Nice, very jealous you get to watch those games.
