havnt got it but heard its really bad, to similar to 07.
Also some kits dont have sponsers, real madrid home stadium
isnt on there etc etc
Also heard it freezes in manager mode on ps3

I think it'll all depend on which version you get. The Wii for
example has no manager mode or be a pro.

I just got it on PS2.
Freezing on manager mode ps3 is a lie. I've played 3 games with the
phoenix so far and it's all good. You have to transfer elrich into
your team though.
I'm a little worried about the AI (PS2). I watched a cpu v cpu
match between Valencia (at home) & the Phoenix & the
Phoenix won 2-1 after extra time lol.
I got it today. Gameplay is a LOT better. Graphics are pretty
similar. Better modes. I like it :D
got it on ps3, seems wicked! Struggling to get used to the new controls though
I've had problems with the difficulty. On ameteur 2mins I can win 7-0 with the nix but on semi-pro 4 mins I can barely score.

Yeah, with time you get better. I just beat Doncaster 3-2 in a very
thrilling match (with the Nix of course).

For some reason they didn't use a next gen engine for the pc
version of the game. I can't imagine why.

Yeah just graphics & also better gameplay. The AI is much
better as the players are processing thousands of moves per second.
Be a pro will be better on next gen because it uses a special camera that current gen doesn't get. & when you are on the ball & get closer to goal the camera comes right up behind you to add to the emotion.

they made him pretty good but i think its because hes the official ambassador for fifa08 in aussie and nz.

does anyone know how to do a be a pro season on 360
Sorry mate, be a pro season can only be done on current gen. For
next gen you have offline training, friendlies, challenges mode,
& online 5v5 (which i dont think is running yet). That's
as far as be a pro goes for the 360 & PS3.
Yea im not even sure 5 v5 is in Nz. Archie looks good but in the
phoenix team Ross looks quite alike and so does felipe.
Oh yeah I heard something about online be a pro not being available
in Australia.

Commentary is broken, says "great save" when I miss
completely.
Commentary is the same duo as last year, with a lot of the
same comments.
Player switching while on defense is VASTLY worse, they say
"use the right stick" but that doesn't help PC players and they
took away the old way of switching so now I've gotta basically live
with auto-switching.
'Control keeper' is bound to [Shift] which is the same as the
first-touch, meaning whenever I try to break from defense I end up
controlling my own keeper.
Texture issues - in one of the games I played some players
were missing skin.
Winning issue - when I won a game (against perth), the first
shot was a perth player running around like he won.
'pre-season friendly' win issue - I won a pre-season
friendly and it played the 'won a cup' victory, with
"Congratulations, you have won the ."
Oh and they took away my glasses from the create a player!

So yeh all sorts of bugs in the game at this stage - hopefully
they can release a patch to fix this stuff but atm its bleh.

Clearly the right result.
I'm playing my first season of manager mode with the nix, then heading over to my english club the mighty Forest to bring them back to english and european glory! <3 the nix of course but there's nowhere to go from the A-League. Just so I don't miss out on playing the nix I've started a 'be-a-pro' season in the nix colours, nice addition that one.
Mate got it. Looks awesome, hard at first but gets easier the longer you play it.
Hey all I got fifa08 on the 29th it was hard to get into it at
first. I did'nt know where to start so I went into practice mode
and had a few shots and defending. Then went into manager mode with
the Phoenix on semi-pro, and selected my pre-seasons against:
Melbourne Vic, Hull Fc, Hearts Fc, LA Galaxy
Results:
VIC 5-0 WPFC (Archie Ripped Up)
HULL 1 -1 WPFC
HRTS 2-2 WPFC (Smeltz Double)
LA 0-0 WPFC
Now im half-way through the season placed 4th
(PS2) Pros:

Wellington Phoenix
A-League
Online Gaming
(PS2) Cons:
Wespac Stadium isnt there
English commentators dont fit in with the
league
Ratings are too high and too low
Music is gay (always)

Couple of things, do you know if theres going to be a patch
forthe 'crashing out to windows' after trying to save a replay?
Very annoying.
Also you can switch players manually, they've just changed the
key from 'S' to 'Q'. Annoying, but you get use to it after a
while.
And finally, finally, they've got White Hart Lane in there.
Next year The Cake Tin?
