Should be good! Demo is definitely different from Fifa 12. A-League should have a good representation too.
Question: My PS2 is on it's way out (keeps freezing) and I'm not going to lash out on a PS3 to get FIFA13. How does the computer version (Windows preferably, or Mac) of FIFA12 compare with console versions (PS3 or Xbox 360)?

It's exactly the same.
At the moment I'm playing FIFA 12 and 13 on my PC with an Xbox controller and it feels just the same when I play on a console. Some even say PC is better because of the higher graphics capabilities.

Yea I have FIFA12 on the PC...As long as you use a controller its just as good if not better.

The controller kind doesn't really matter as long as its capable with a computer. Its more so you have an analog stick to get a full range of movement.

Native PS2/PS3 controllers don't work with PC's though sadly, but if you get a Logitec Dual Action they're pretty much the same but without the vibration at around about $30.

Played my first game this morning, I love how the 'rival team' of the Nix is Perth, as opposed to Gold Coast as it has been for the past few years. Also, the home Nix crowd booed everytime Smeltz touched the ball, makes the game seem much more realistic. It's also a nice touch having the managers standing on the sideline, although I nearly took Ricki's head off with a stray pass...

Quite enjoy the game love the little things they have done. didn't think the graphics were that much better ( that could have been the t.v though )

Due to other financial comitments I missed out on the special edition. Howz the game shaping up? Warehouse has it for $117.00 at the moment.

It's only $95 I think from www.nzgameshop.com, I bought the normal edition from there for $83 including shipping.
Dick Smiths has it for $99 too (and free delivery online), standard edition. Is it much of an improvement over FIFA 12? I usually find the career mode repetitive and a bit simplistic.
Why does the nix kit not have Sony on it? Big improvement on 12, be good to get Fenton in there in the next update.
That's a shame, it was on there in 2012. I wondered in the past if it was due to the game being released on Xbox/Wii but 2012 on Wii had the Sony logo. I think it was missing from 2011 too.

In the UK update Louis and Tyler in are the Nix but no sign of Stein. Yes I'm playing Ultimate, have already picked up all of NZ's players, sadly we have no RBs or LMs in 13.
For those on consoles who haven't updated the squads recently, Heskey is in the game at an overall of 66, Huysegems at 65 and del Piero at 82.

From what I have seen thus far, Del Piero deserves a rating of 70 at the very most.
I keep getting stuck in the loading arena before games. So frustrating because I have to quit the game as you can't exit that arena.
for some reason, my squad updates haven't shown up? I did add Del Piero, Heskey etc via creation centre - so maybe now that they are in the game there is some sort of clash?
They reverted the Del Piero/Heskey update because there was an issue with the entire update that made career mode freeze.

Been playing fifa on the PS platform since Fifa 98. Love the latest version. Imo, the biggest improvements are the individual touch and control, attacking AI and the continuity of games esp for stoppages like (quick) free kicks and throwins. Game modes wise I pretty much play Ultimate Team which is crazy addictive!!! And with the online UT app you can trade and manage your club anytime really.
I've made an A league based squad which is fun to play with featuring Pasty, Dura, Siggie (rated 65!!!), Smeltz, Manny and Kosta for a bit of NZ flavour. And having gotten used to full manual controls aside from shooting (too many sitters missed, so have it on semi), the attacking possibilities and opportunities are much better.
I live in China now where the connection is a bit dodgy plus the EA Servers suck anyway. Add me would be keen for a game: crockettnzl

well, my FIFA 12 disc has carked it (don't let people move your xbox console around while it's playing - CRRRUNNCCCHHHH!!!!) looks like FIFA 13 for Xmas!

I was going to treat myself to the PC version - will have to wait until after Christmas now. I presume if you have a PC version you can't play online against someone with a PS3 or Xbox360 version?
Never tried online games before but we have plenty of data allowance at the moment so might give it a try.
No you can't. There was a game come out once which could be done multi-player PC and Xbox but apparently got discontinued.

Just wondering if there is any technical barrier to this happening (seems not from the link), rather than any platform giving an advantage over another.
Depends how the servers are implemented. If the console is sending all the data as generic things like 'pass', 'shoot' then it would theoretically be possible. Also, the developers would have to host their own servers completely seperately to the PSN/XboxLive, which is expensive. It is much easier (and cheaper) to use the integrated online systems e.g. Xbox Live PSN to handle the transfer of data.
Sorry Patrick - I couldn't understand a word of that (not a reflection on you). Are you saying that PS3 and Xbox gamers can play each other online? If so does that mean it should be possible for PC gamers to also join the same "system"?
