I'm still playing an epic game of FM2011, about 10 seasons in, the first time in all my days of CM/FM I've ever played more than a handful of seasons in one game. Some amazing regens, trophy after trophy, good times.
And I've downloaded the demo of FM12, but only bothered to play one match so far... simply wasn't overly inspired by it.
And the fact that the A-League is still an absolute disgrace in every regard is really poor form. Along with the cocked up rules, bugs, etc, the squads are generally abysmal too. And unfortunately despite offering my services to help out (particularly with the Nix), it never got anywhere... I'd like to think my quick Phoenix update for FM11 was far more accurate than the initial effort, and I was happy to volunteer to help... but alas.
An accurate and playable A-League would more than certainly sway me to purchase it, but I'm not hanging out for it to happen...

2011/12 - Woeful first year. Finished 10th. About 17 pts off 9th.
2012/13 - Big improvement. Finished 3rd and qualified for the playoffs. Went out 6-4 on aggregate to Berwick in heartbreaking circumstances (extra time).
2013/14 - Too many draws. Finished 4th and made the playoffs again. Again went out in the first round this time 1-0 to 2nd div strugglers Stenhousemuir. Not as gutting as Berwick but still hurt.
Start of 2014/15 and we are too inconsistent for my liking. On our day can smack anyone by 4+ but too many times don't exert ourselves enough, particularly away, and struggle for points.
Three for me, and two for them.

Will Atkinson also got League 2 Player of the Year and Curtis Nelson got Young Player of the Year. Had to terminate Romain Larrieu's contract for a large price so I could free up some wage budget to offer new contracts to my young stars. Plymouth are an exciting team to manage because when the game starts there are only 10 players over the age of 21. Heaps of teenagers who have lots of potential although no reserve team makes it hard. Not a bad year considering I had a 0 transfer budget, tiny wage budget, and the club is near administration.
2014/15 - Going up. League champions by NINETEEN points. Deserved by a mile.
2015/16 - 10 games in. Sitting in 4th. Into the Challenge Cup final.
I've built a core squad who have been together for 3+ years now which i'm sure helps. They are all young too and getting better each season.

I have just got me a copy of this and considering I am stuck in Blenheim - New Zealand's most boring town - for a considerable amount of time I suspect I will get well into it.

All of this plus improved match engine, less buggy on release, and the ability to add/remove leagues within the game.

Also qualified us for EURO Cup football, so invested heavily in depth as well as some new players. Brought in the likes of Christopher Metzelder, Daniele Bonera, Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel from Liverpool, Adel Taraabt, Gareth Barry (loan), Ryan Babel, Andre Gignac, and a whole bunch of young blokes (regens) who are being touted as the next big thing.
My best team goes: Robert Green, Jose Bosingwa, James Tomkins, Martin Skrtel, Matty Taylor, Adel Taraabt, Gareth Barry, Charlie Adam, James McFadden, Javier Saviola, Andre Gignac.
Best thing is I managed to clear out nearly all the dead wood that were on bloated wages but you really have to be careful during contract negotiations. The agents can be cut-throat and slip in Highest Earner clauses meaning if one person makes the most money another 2 will automatically equal his wages.
I figure if I can keep making money and buying the best young talent for 2 more seasons I'll be able to stockpile all the income in order to make the club richer for when I need to splurge.
As an aside, my reputation is at a point where I can attract top talent, but they want STUPID money to play.
I had bids accepted for Tevez and Andy Carroll, and they wanted $320k and $185k a week respectively.
