Look at the South American countries like Paraguay, Colombia and Bolivia... usually have some late teens for virtually nothing that increase in value rapidly - and are A-League quality.

Go to the countries then domestic.

09 seems to be sold out at all the shops so far. They said there would be some coming in next week. How does the phoenix compare to some of the other clubs in the A-league?

I might just start a game with Adelaide as I know sh*t all about them.

Already tried one with the 'Nix and got 6th three seasons in a row.

There's FM Live...

Don't think network games are possible over a WAN though. Just LAN.

Ah I didn't know you had to get a separate game.

Crap.

O well. After 5 games being Adelaide I am currently undefeated with 4 wins and 1 draw (vs. the 'Nix). Facing Sydney now who are in 2nd place and 5 points behind.

A win here would be perfect.

Finished 2nd after being 1st place from the very first round.

Roar just beat me in the second to last round then I had to win and for them to lose or draw for me to get premiers, but they won.

Then lost to them in the Major Semi-Final so had to face Mariners for a grand final play off, after 0-0 at full time lost to them on penalties 4-2 after missing the first 2.

Cant wait till next season now.

You should have a chance against Colombia, and if Zlatan doesn't fire Sweden are much worse off..

You could sneak through.yomcat2008-12-05 14:24:34

Get your fastest CB man-marking him and use opp instructions to close him down, tackle him hard, and show him onto his weaker foot.

ill probably play a 541 or something along those lines with the counter attacking ticked. and play around with who marks who when it occurs. I have sweden last so will be the deciding game.

Might depend on what formation they use, if it's their 4-3-3 get the full-backs to mark the wide men.

Well done S.B. One step better than me. Was in the Confederations Cup, but I had Brazil, Spain and South Africa in my pool. Lost to Spain 2-0 then drew with S.A 1-1 then lost to Brazil 5-1.

Is there anything worse in FM than getting relegated?

I've just experienced it (for the first time i might add) in probably one of my last 08 games before i get 09 for Xmas a couple weeks away. I was Bristol City in the Championship and despite the fact we made a decent start and had some great wins (4-0 vs Leicester who came 1st and 5-1 vs Ipswich who came 2nd) i still wound up going down..

So yeah i quit Keano styles and may well retire breifly from the FM world until i get 09. Unless i get the hunger for one last game again.

played 08 for a year got 09 from santa  just finished my first season. I played in England went radom club got Leyton Orient. I played either a attacking 4-3-3 or attacking 4-4-2. i was expected to be lucky to avoid relegration but finished 10th. I got a few young players from premership teams on loan and brought a few championship players that couldnt break into their club first team. I got mostly attack minded players as but I would recommend strenghting up central defense and goalkeeping. Oh well I will go back to July 08 and find another team.

Im playing FM2008 and I have modified the A-League using the data editor. However when I go onto the game it is the default database. How do I apply my database to the game?

It should give you the option right after you click on 'New Game'.

It didn't do that to me, I tried it just now and several times before. Do I need to reinstall it?

If that Wine work around doesn't work, you could give this a try:
