I've been thrashing FM (formerly CM) ever since i was a kid and got
my hot little hands on CM1 93/94.
FM can eat your life up.
I've had a couple of attempts in the A League. Firstly with
Melbourne, struggled in my first season, finishing 5th (but it was
really tight) Sold Archie Thompson to Man City for 2.5 million, but
of course it wasn't easy to buy any striker half as good as him.
But I demolished the league in my second season, winning
everything.
Then, I had a go as the Knights. Again, first season wasn't
easy. But I built up a solid squad in season 2. Got Chris
James on loan, an argentinian midfielder called Michael Sarmiento
who was great, an english fullback kevin amankwah, and an 18 year
old english striker called junior brown who was a star. most
surprisingly, my two best players were Michael White - a left mid
in the game, but he was incredible, averaging almost 8 (i was
pissing myself laughing at his performances). My other star was the
young aussie striker Casey who started with the team, great in the
air and was the league top scorer in my second season.
Currently playing as Wrexham, who I won League 2 with in my first
season, and am leading League 1 halfway through 2nd season. Knocked
Middlesborough and Blackburn out of the League Cup, and now have to
face Chelsea in the semi!
My problem is I always lose my enthusiasm for each game in my
second season. Don't know why, just means every couple of months I
have to start a new game
Aussie season is great to play in though, as it is relatively short
(especially compared to lower english leagues, where you can play
between 50 and 60 games a season), which makes it more fun, ripping
through each season relatively quickly.
