In FM 15 just finished my first season with Southern United. Despite my best efforts I still finished 8th out of 9. Tony Lochhead was the one player I was able to lure to us with a massive wage relatively. Real depressing being the manager for Southern considering even Northern League players tell you "I'm not interested in moving to Southern United"... like dude, I'm offering you a job! You're an amateur! Tom Jackson, who was great in real life that season was atrocious for me only scoring 3 goals throughout the season.

Oh well, I think I'll make a Phoenix save or some smaller European league save next.

in FM2016 that's happens all the time, and as the game progress only a very few kiwis manage to get a contract overseas (mostly the ones with second nationality), the squads grow awfuly in numbers and the AI managers picks the young lads over the experienced ones.

If you look in the editor you'll see that NZ players are woefully low in CA and PA.

you think so? i think it's (mostly) accurate.

On the other hand the game doesn't allow the winter/summer-club/franchaise. You must edit the duration (to 3 or 4 rounds) or players never going to reach their potential because the 6 months of no training.

I am managing Burton Albion in the lower english divisions and signed two phoenix players, Bonavacia (cost a lot?) and Dylan Fox...both have had a stellar season, we got promoted

Right so im limping along in my first EPL season. Its slow going but im managing to get points here and there. Squad is still mostly championship quality but they're all batters. signed some CB from league 1 who has turned into a star.

THEN November rolls around and my two fudgeing left backs retire!! what the hell! they were aged 30 and 32. i couldn't see any signs of them retiring. Is there a place i need to look to find out if they are about to retire? coz now im fudgeed down the left until Jan. and im sure one of them only just renew his contract at the start of the season.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

IIRC, In previous versions players would indicate at the start of the season (or there abouts) they are planning on retiring at the end of the season - never had a player retire, or staff member retire, mid season.

only happened to me if i signed a player planning to retire at an end of a season (i.e MLS) and i moved him to the EPL, or if they had a career ending injury
