I just started playing this game, but there's hardly any Kiwis there yet.

http://www3.footstar.org - The best football manager ever, you can be manager of your own player, play in a friends team with your real-life friends, and now there is a big chance in New Zeland. We need another domestic team (perhaps someone wants to create the Phoenix...) But the more important thing is that the National team U-18 is looking for new players, beginners, to create a New Zeland U-18 team and win the World Cup in next season.

Basically this game is about being a player, rather than traditional management games where you manage the whole team. Set your training up, interact with other players, find a team and play matches. Your goal is to become the best in the world. On the way you can play for a club team anywhere in the world, and if you're good enough, you can represent New Zealand.

The game is free, but people who buy a paid membership also have the option of managing teams. At the moment we really need more paying members from New Zealand, so that we can have more human-controlled club teams and therefore a stronger domestic competition. It would also be nice to have New Zealand coaches for our National teams, as they are mostly coached by foreigners at this time.

I might actually become a paying member and create a Wellington Phoenix team myself shortly.

This game is pretty cool. I've just been selected for the New Zealand U18 Squad... And I might be getting a contract with a Swedish team.

I was in Poland playing for the NZ U18's coach but I got a transfer and immediately the coach resigned, I'm kinda avoiding it now.

You don't actually play, you can follow the match live in a text mode but if you buy FS fan, you can watch the game in 2D. At the end of the game you get a rating out of 10.

Just took over a team, Waikato Rapids FC. Hope to get rid of the bots and get some more human players soon. Especially with a game against Nelson Suburbs coming up!

Games are simulated using a match engine, so rather than picking numbers, it simulates minute-by-minute events which you can watch in progress.
