I agree with rodfarva in the sense that FIFA 08 next-gen is a much better footballing game than that of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. Historically though, Konami has come up trumps against EA Sports in football games in terms of gameplay. As for licensing, graphics and sound however, EA Sports wins hands down.

Is anyone else playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2008?
I'm addicted, and slowly starting to string together some decent plays.

I am playing it daily and really addicted to it. Really enjoy playing with some mates who have sharp skills.

I haven't developed any sharp skills yet but hope to by the time I get the net hooked up and play on-line, so a month or two more training to go.  The give-and-go and the leave are the two I'm finding tricky to get right in the heat of the battle.
I play soooo much like the Phoenix it's scary, I can't count the number or games I've lost or leads I've given away in the last minute of play.

depending on how you play it, you can just get a patch to update it all which is much easier.

I have gone back to my roots of PES05 at the moment, 3rd season in master league and pushing for the top two (Arsenal, Liverpool) - but no 1st this season. D1 cup will have to do.

PES2009 is looking sweet.. hope it is a good game. I have been told, but have not confirmed, that their is a 'legend' option that is much like master league but you control your one player and work him to glory. i.e try get selected by top teams, get individual awards and such.

Rodfarva, you will be happy, I am moving to a house with a PS3 and Fifa08, so will have no choice but to indulge study the game intensely!

haha i am happy to hear that NZgooner. and yep you're right about the "legend" mode, pretty much a copy of the "be a pro" thing fifa had last year. both new versions of the games have the career mode with the individual, although fifa's is limited to 3 seasons from what i've heard.

will be very interesting to see how much ground pes makes up this year, they cant do worse than pes08 which was the worst in the series by far!
