i'm loving the game, lot harder than pes6 have to work alot harder to win the ball, where do you buy the game guide from??
What really pisses me off is random refereeing (and keeping too, but it's not as bad). The kind when you just pass the ball and it's a foul against you for some stupid reason. Or when your guy pretty much gets killed by the computer opponent and nothing happens. Really weird. Could have been an absolutely amazing game, but I haven't played it for a week now, so that says it all I suppose....

i would tend to disagree with u here, altho i havent played Fifa so i cant really comment on that, however if u think Pro evo is the Fast game it scares me to think how slow Fifa is.
Just got 2008 and i'm loving it, just about to win div.2 with Blackburn, GO nelsen, also got Micah Richards and Shorey in first transfer, mean defence!
I've been hooked on 05 for ages now and my impression of the 2008 version is that its a bit slower than its predecessors, but overall the gameplay is much much nicer. The physics are waaaay more realistic, your player has to have momentum to do what u want him to do, and everything just looks more realistic. The way the kick the ball is far better, they actually hit it in a realistic way.
Haven't seen any of the goaly probs your talking about NZgooner, although i'm loving the 1 handed saves! they look amazing
o ya, n the licsences arnt a problem.. i just spent 20 mins at the start and changed all the english name which now = all English teams have the right names.
Wish it had the Nix tho.

read please, i compared the 2 speeds of the games without playing Fifa 08 because of the comment u made that u even quoted, saying that u believe that PES is a Faster game, while Fifa is slower and in your words, more simulation like. Therefore, due to common and sensible logic, i believe that PES 08 is generally a much slower and more of an actual simulation of real soccer than previous versions of PES, therefore Fifa must be extremely slow to be slower. make sense to u?
Edit: and now rereading my own post it seems i didnt even compare them, so what u on about?

FIFA 08 review
Another year, another FIFA' as the saying goes. EA rarely put out a new FIFA game without drastically changing either the game modes or the play system, fearing criticism that could arise from a lack of innovation. There's no shortage of new modes, gimmicks and promises that the ball physics have been calculated by a man with a brain twice the size of Stephen Hawkin's mega frontal lobe.
PES 2008 review
Pro Evolution Soccer has always been the game of choice for those who seek a fast, in-depth and remarkably accurate version of football which can be played until the next instalment arrives and tweaks the formula, striving for perfection every year. PES 2008 on PS3 feels familiar but looks next-gen the perfect combination. It's the game that PS3 owners have been crying out for, starved of any decent sports games which aren't based around popular American sports.
i honestly cannot understand how anyone can think pes gamepley is better this time around. but each to their own and i feel sorry for the diehards who can't move past the 'fifa vs pes' mentality.
