From what I have seen, it is shaping up to be a very nice game. Konami have managed to nab the UEFA Champions League license which will be an interesting feature.

game features sound great too, if you are familiar with fifa08 (sorry to use fifa as an example ) then you would have noticed the pro mode, playing as one player, not the team - with the rest controlled by the cpu. On pes09, it has that mode, but this one is like that version but on crack. you do a career mode as one player. So say I take a certain mexican called Carlos Vela, You would start in the lowly of the lows, and have to prove and win ytour way to selection to top teams, top clubs, then being the best you can and win individual and team trophies.

that plus master league, I cant wait to give it a try. Hopefully a return to pes5 gameplay style, with updated 08 features. keep away from the arcade konami!

Ack!  That's just what I wanted from the be a pro seasons mode in FIFA 09, I chose Costa as my player and it immediately made me team captain and places me in charge of team formation and substitutions.  That's a bunch of responsibilty on a young guy XD

there is more freedom in PES in everything you do, Fifa some how seems restricted I can predict what route the players are able to take in certain situations after some time. PES the players collide into each other, you can see the referee, the players receive treatment on the side line, the ball hits players who are not involved in the play, you get booked for off the ball incidents after wards when the advantage is played by the referee, some times when players score and celebrate than everyone notices the lines man with the offside flag up and the goal is disallowed also you can see players getting stretchered off the pitch or trying to get back on the field. They have always been miles ahead of Fifa when it comes to realism.

Oh, and once you get into it the Master League on PES is on another planet to FIFA's game modes.

Three for me, and two for them.

True. Having played the demo gameplay seems a lot slower than last year and it takes a bit to get used to.

I can't stress enough how much I dislike FIFA. The gameplay seems stiff and I personally don't feel like I have full control over my players. The shooting is terrible and I feel like its too much of a complication to dribble past players.

PES just seems so much more fluent, and I enjoy the passing and shooting on it. The dribbling seems more realistic and overall, I enjoy it more.

I don't think I'll ever be swayed. I enjoy PES so I may as well stick to it.

yeah i like playing PES but the lack of licenses kinda makes it harder to get into..

and in the 'master leagues' how instead of money you earn points that you buy players with, that always annoyed me.  i do like that you can do swap deals though, fifa need to put that in.

i play pes2008 and fifa09, tbh each game has its perks and each has its downsides, I don't particularly rate one over the other although I used to be a complete avid pes fan!! I just started playing fifa because I was bored of it hahaha. Will def buy pes2009 when it comes out though

PES 09 is a great game BUT, it takes about 5 minutes every time it autosaves
It will load a game in about 2 seconds but for some reason saving just takes an eternity. Game play is better than FIFA 09 but I just can't be arsed waiting every time I finish a game.
