The Featherston - Home of the Fever

The new season is just around the corner, and we are excited to announce a new game day home for the Fever - The Featherson. Situated on the corner of Featherston and Johnston Streets, it should be a familiar venue for any past 12 Pubs participants.

To celebrate the move, The Featherston will have drink specials for every home game this season. Just wear your Phoenix/Fever gear or show your match/season ticket.

Get down there next Sunday for Whacking Day and enjoy some food, drink, and perhaps a bit of chant practice.

So, how much more of a walk is it than the Old Bailey?

Horrifically far apparently, because it’s almost twice as long a walk as it is from various pubs or the bus station in Albany to North Harbour Stadium, and that’s apparently the major stumbling block for Aucklanders attending games there.

But to answer your specific question, on average between 0 and 3 minutes depending the route you take and how slow you walk. It could even be less of a walk.

Sounds like potentially more time to march together ;)

Yeah it's a couple of minutes more, but means we can march down the waterfront instead.

According to Google Maps, it's a 17min walk, not sure if that's to the concourse or the front entrance though...

Definately to the gate. Maybe I'm just a fast walker but it doesn't take 17 minutes to walk from Featherston to the concourse so don't worry too much. Pretty sure a good chunk of that 17 minutes is the concourse itself lol

Bumping this to recommend the Feathers' Toastie Takeover entry, the Roastie Toastie 2.0 - a roast beef "toastie" with Yorkshire pudding in place of the bread, perfect for a cold miserable Wellington night after attending an evening game.

Also for all last night was cold and miserable, it was still a jolt to walk in at 8pm on a Saturday and find it so quiet that the staff almost outnumbered the patrons. I know dining out is a luxury in these fiscally restrained times, but seeing how the Feathers supports the Fever they deserve our support during their own off-season.

They definitely deserve support. I try to get along to their Tuesday quiz nights, and the odd beer on weekends too. I now know most of the staff by name, and they know me too 😊 also highly recommend the Toastie!
