The whining about modding thread

What qualifies a thread to be locked?

Started one last night.

As much as I dislike the swear word filter, I'm very guilty of being a responsible party to it so I apologise to all and have tried to use normal language the last couple of days (except bloody and piss)

Can you use fork instead of fudge? Maybe even fire truck? Perhaps shizen instead of shark?

I locked it because it was discussing the match, so posting in the match thread would have sufficed.

Probably trying to raise a broader theme.

If you close down discussion on a thread as it's controversial and/or may lead to further action then I think the thread should be removed 

I'm quite happy to meet with 'newgolddream', YF and the Wellington Phoenix as my version of events is being ignored and my right of reply is being denied 

The stewards dealt with the situation

I was not ejected from the ground I offered to leave to prevent further trouble and was told by the stewards I should stay and watch the game 

  

Your version of events has not been ignored. You have expressed them. You abused my family and me - FACT!

Why do you wish to meet with me? To abuse me further? Have you not done enough damage already? My family are frightened to come to the game now!

You offered to leave - but did not follow it through (presumably because you feel it is acceptable to abuse innocent people). You could have relocated...as you told me to do, despite me being a season ticket holder and club member.  You obviously offered to leave as you knew you were in the wrong. However, you have not had the decency to apologise for the hate you directed at my six year old daughter.

I totally refute your allegations above and would have happily continued the discussion in the thread I started, however it was closed down 

 I make no allegations - I state facts. Feel free to start another thread if this is not the appropriate forum.

Take note - You were emotive in your post. You say you are happy to meet me, but it seems like it is merely a facade and your way of disassociating yourself from blame due to your contemptible behaviour.

This is a thread to make a comment to the moderators about the features of the forum and the control of the forum's threads

I'm no LFC fan, but what might be cool is if everyone on the forum changed their avatar to an LFC logo for a few days in solidarity with newgolddream's daughter. Would be an amazing gesture that would get noticed in any mainstream media coverage that eventuates from this. Just a suggestion.

It's interesting that the thread that was discussing the issue was closed down, but the thread about mods is allowing comments about the issue

Can anyone here give an independent and rationale analysis on what happened here so people can come to an informed decision on who is wrong and right? Just looking at this thread gives no clues but My first thought was some poor guy wasn't chanting 

The mods need to take control. This is a thread about mods' actions, not somewhere to express an opinion on a thread that was closed down  

WH: you havn't come out of this looking very good mate - even if their is underlying circumstances the main gist of this issue has you on the wrong side of popular opinion.

It's also not helping you asking the mods to shut down something essentially you started... just a thought.

that's true but if we ignore the actual issue on game day and just focus on what's being said on the forums it dosn't come across well.  Like you say it might be that the bulk of the people are actually wrong but it still dosn't look good.
