How will they go this time? Have a good mate who is dutch and would love a match against these guys....... but will they choke like they did in euro?

Yeah I'm half dutch so would love a matchup. They've always had the potential, so hoping a semis atleast. They are strong and the way they played up until that Russia game was great.

Their defense could be key, because they have the fire power up front

I remember Smithy say last year that they were going to win euro and that hed put his house on it wonder if hes homeless atm....... hahah and my dutch mate says theres too many personalities in the team so that could be a negative factor

Just watch them self-destruct around quarter-final time in time honoured Dutch fashion.

I personally don't get everyone wanting to see the All Whites play their usual World Cup team, I certainly don't want to have to back against a team I love (Portugal).

Because I dislike a fair few of the current Dutch national team (and despise Arjen Robben) I hope they don't make it any further than the round of 16.
You know we belong together...

Bring back Kluivert and they'll take it out easy*.  If not then I'd like to see them gone as quickly as possible.

*So I'd like to think.

Whatever you do, make damn sure you watch the game they play against a top opposition, in which they outclass them so beautifully that you *know* this will be their world cup.
(followed by the quarter-final implosion.)

Outside chance for the final. If they can get the attitudes in alignment, they can be devastating. A big ask for their management team.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

They do often have some really good players, but often get beaten by a better team. I don't think they self-destructed in the Euro's - Russia were just a better team. I thought Russia were favourites going into that match.

Kind of like the NZ team that plays in Black, the Dutch will look the goods but then trip and stumble as per usual.

Ahh, yes, I remember that game,
The All Whites (wearing black) led Italy 3 times only to lose 4-3.

I dont believe we should have the "biggest expectations but poorest results" title. England certainly takes the cake there...

This time they reckon they've got a shot too... cue penalty shootout please, hopefully against the oranje... terry to take the 5th to keep em in the game...

Fine.  The Oranje can have the "biggest realistic expectations but most predictable collapse" title.

...

Actually, Spain might give them a bit of a run on that.

Nah, think Spain are the real deal these days.

With the Dutch I'm still expecting the inevitable implosion.

I have Dutch Citizenship, therefore I am not on the Dutch bandwagon but am actually dutch. (Was greatly accused of this round Euro time)

That is all.

Right.  Dutch have a lock on "most predictable collapse after an extremely positive start in the World Cup finals".

Spain will have to settle for "least expected collapse in the World Cup finals".

So Nederlands now have: Group E with Denmark, Japan and Cameroon
should be pretty straight foward for them to go through top but any of these teams are capable of an upset so Nederlands should still be weary and not over confident.
Fixtures:
14th June   vs Denmark       Johannesburg

19th June    vs Japan           Durban

24th June     vs Cameroon    Capetown

Maybe. Netherlands are usually a pretty good team in the group stages of tournaments.

Dutch will carve their group, beautiful football and all that. Then crumble in the quarter finals I'm picking.

To save everyone's time writing this, just use the following acronym;
