Teams what will not reach Round 4

Group A - Antigua and Barbuda and Guatemala

Group B - Guyana and Costa Rica

Group C - Cuba and Panama

Think you're underselling Costa Rica big time. Maybe Panama too, they still have a pretty good shot too.

Panama v Canada set to kick off.

Canuk de Rosario subbed injured in the firs few minutes of the match pretty much fucked Canada, Blackburn scored for Panama at 38'.

Ok, finished 2-0 with Perez scoring in the second half, our boy Yau made an appearance for Panama in the 75th. His first I think.

Poor Flying Moose. Still in with a chance though.

The Yanks beat Jamaica 1-0 to get themselves back in contention, Three teams on 7 points in that group with two games to go. US and Jamaica are probably favourites as they both still have a game against Antigua and Barbuda left, the worst team in the group, while Guatemala have already played them twice.

Mexico have qualified for the final qualifying round in CONCACAF with two rounds to go after beating Costa Rica 2-0 earlier today, the other 5 spots are still wide open. USA, Jamaica and Guatemala are contending for two of those spots in Group A, Costa Rica and El Salvador for 1 in Group B, and Panama, Honduras and the Flying Moose are contending for two more spots from Group C.

12 Sep 10:07

Been watching as much of these as I can on bet365..

Not feeling amazingly confident about beating some of these teams.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

14 Sep 19:55

Cuba won't be in NZL then!

A full round of games today:

GROUP A

Antigua and Barbuda 1 USA 2

Guatemala 2 Jamaica 1

Guatemala53118510USA53118510Jamaica5212557Antigua and Barbuda5014391USA play Guatemala at home in the last game on Wednesday our time. Draw puts them both through to the final qualifying stage, will be interesting to see if they both approach the game cynically and knock Jamaica out. Jamaica is at home against Antigua and Barbuda. Both games will be played at the same time.

GROUP B

Guyana 0 Mexico 5

El Salvador 0 Costa Rica 1

Mexico550013215Costa Rica5212757El Salvador5122895Guyana50145171Mexico had already qualified for the final qualifying stage before today, Costa Rica took a giant step today. Costa Rica is at home against Guyana in the last game, El Salvador play against Mexico away. Would take a minor miracle to prevent Costa Rica from qualifying for the final stage.
GROUP C
Canada 3 Cuba 0
Panama 0 Honduras 0

Panama53115110Canada53115210Honduras5221428Cuba5005090The Flying Moose play away to Honduras in the last game, Panama plays away to Cuba. Barring a major and extremely unlikely disaster, Panama will be in the final qualifying stage. Honduras and the Flying Moose are effectively playing a knock-out match, with the Flying Moose having the added advantage that a draw is enough for them.

Gah, the tables looked perfect in the preview and are now messed up. Can't be bothered fixing it now.

13 Oct 16:26

Was at the Canada v Cuba game last night.Would love to see them get through to the next stage but Honduras would be favourites.Panama should beat Cuba as they are woeful.

We would have a great chance against the Flying Moose if that match came to pass.

16 Oct 20:31

Moose season. 3-0 Honduras.30 mins gone.

16 Oct 20:35

Would be some place to play Honduras.Make that 4-0.

16 Oct 20:42

didn't we beat them ?

I LOVE LAMP

16 Oct 20:59

so it was el salvadoor that we drew with then .should we be scared if we face honduras  then ? hmmmm

I LOVE LAMP

16 Oct 21:19

Sanday said it would be a tricky place to play them. Playing in Honduras would be more difficult than playing in Texas I imagine, and considerably more difficult than playing in Auckland.

16 Oct 21:22

Bit of a pathetic effort by the moose.A goal every ten minutes.

Canada has suffered a footballing catastrophe today.  Got to feel for them...

Canadian ice hockey heads....perhaps even worse than rugby heads....once met one.  Traveled the world with his ice hockey club thing, skates, padding etc.  Even if he was going to the heart of black Africa - he would take them.  Man, his kind must be giving it to "Canada's soccer-homos" at the moment...

So it looks as though it will be one of Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama or Jamaica assuming USA and Mexico cruise through. Round 4 of CONCACAF takes place between 6 February and 15 October 2013, not great as we'll have to play both matches in the one window, but so will our opponent. Even worse news in that I'll have to wait until October until I can book flights, would love a trip to Jamaica. All assuming we survive through out next two matches. Not sure who the best teams out of those will be to face but you'd have to imagine the away leg will be tough in all of them with Jamaica being the easiest maybe?

24 Oct 08:40

Jamaica is a bit of a wild card, they have a bunch of players eligible to represent them playing in the Premiership and the Championship who might get very interested in playing for them now, a couple (Nyron Nosworthy and Adrian Mariappa) have already joined up in the last 4-5 months.

24 Oct 08:42

Yeah, heard about that. No doubt a much stronger side than the one that beat us 3-2 this year.

25 Oct 03:24

The hex draw will be on november 7th.

I wonder if people from the Americas have been following the OFC qualifying as much as we are going to be following theirs.
