Sounds like lots of last day late drama in CONCACAF.

I doubt many AWs fans will shed a tear that Costa Rica failed to qualify.
Ticos (ranked 49th) would have ended up in Pot 4 with us if they had qualified, so was never going to be a chance of a revenge match up next June.

I think Ivory Coast (42) are the lowest likely ranked team in Pot 3.

Nice to see Haiti make it. That country is a failed state, hell on earth scene at the moment.

I'd pick Bolivia, and one of Iraq, DR Congo or Suriname to be the 2 teams to come out of the March intercontinetal tourney in Mexico. Whoever manages to avoid the Bolivians in the draw maybe.

Of course Arnie coaches Iraq, and that's another country that's had it's fair share of misery recently. So wouldn't mind them making it.
Unfortunately ex Nixer Mo Al-Taay seems on the outer with Arnold.

Piojo Herrera is still in charge of Costa Rica, which surprises me, but he had some interesting comments for the media after they were booed off the pitch in San Jose. Mind you this is the man who was fired as the head coach of Mexico for punching a journalist in the TSA line at the Philadelphia airport two days after Mexico WON the Gold Cup.

Stevie McLaren did quit as Jamaican manager (before I had even posted, though I wasn't aware of it) and the rumoured front-runner is our old friend John Herdman.

This feels like the perfect Herdman job. Jamaica's main problem for me is culture and unity within the camp and that's what Herdman does best. I don't think he'll have time to get everyone involved and on board the way he wants by March, but I don't think it's a lack of their being enough talent in the Jamaican squad.

Jamaica plays New Caledonia in the first round of the playoffs with the winner advancing to play DR Congo. On the other side, Suriname faces Bolivia with the winner meeting Iraq. Some unusual and interesting match-ups there.

Worth noting that Speid, the man Jamaica hired, was the one who was in charge of the last hiring process that led to McLaren's appointment. He is getting his share of the blame for the disastrous McLaren reign, so this isn't not a popular move.
