"...white bookish types consider soccer to be the new highbrow pastime. Forget baseball—that shit is for chumps with no n+1 subscriptions or post-graduate degrees."

I remember seeing a NY Red Bulls game about a year ago on tv and the crowd was full of waxed moustaches, thick-rimmed glasses, and plaid shirts. It was horrifying.

At least we can say we were into "soccer" before it was cool....

I've always found it funny how hipsters try so hard to be different or alternative but end up being exactly the same as each other. You can spot a hipster a mile away.

So in their attempts to not conform to popular culture, they're really just conforming to another culture, that has almost become popular culture through the word 'hipster'. In fact I'd say they're more conformed and similar to others in their subgroup than anyone else from any other subgroup is.

I could not put that any better Tegal. I might be an old cunt but I hate these silly little shits trying to be like I was years ago as a form of 'WE ARE NON CONFORMIST' only to be more conforming to their own little sub group than they would be to any others. How about loosening up those pants there sonny so your balls can breathe and get some air up to that empty space between your ears before you start this whole 'we are cool by not being cool and not conforming' conforming little sub group.

Die hipster scum, die.

(and the term hipster is fluid, used to describe various sub cultures over the past decade or more. It's stupid and just a problem we have in compartmentalising people to simplify things, isn't that right football hooligans)

No danger at ROF. The connection is sh!te

Yes I've given some thought to the ROF connection issue.

They could train several seagulls to circle the stadium with small antennae strapped to their backs. I would say approximately 7 would do the trick.

Or the cheaper more kiwi option is to have a flock just carry one big antennae around as demonstrated below

It's amazing what birds can do when they put their minds to it. Sort of like an Avian building of the Pyramids really.

Black-backed or red-billed?  Seven might not be enough if the latter...

"General Football Discussion" is definitely more blue collar than "News Discussion and Football Blogging" which I'm sure is full of pretentious latte drinkers and limp-wristed hipster types.

Get the irony but you are completely wrong actually. I was talking to a hipster the other day, (beard, pc job, clothes, knowledge of world music, etc), and he was informed by other hipsters that he was "too old" to be a hipster and I kid you not was gutted by that fact.
