Noah Hickey's for Central vs North Shore a few years back is worse. Much worse, cos he was trying to be clever.

It's funny when players try clever stuff that backfires. I'm thinking of the flick Nick Carle tried in attempting to cross the ball v Uruguay recently, when the Aussies were 2-1 down in the last minute. That cracked me up. What was he thinking...??

I think he was about 18 at the time. He was having a blinder, and just got too cocky. Paul Marshall said to me at the time "if I was in charge here he'd never play for Central again".
Couldn't find it on youtube...

The Greatest Miss Ever was in the 1984 cup final when Micheal Robinson missed in the last minute of the cup final against Man Utd. man u won the replay and Brighton got relagated. But good news for Robinson, as he went on to become the Andy Gray of Spainish football, and i think that he still hosts a show over there.

It was Gordon Smith, not Michael Robinson. Robinson supplied the pass. the commentary was a classic; "and Smith must score..............and Smith hasn't scored".
It was one of the biggest misses in terms of what it cost the club but as for the worst miss, it's a long way off.
