A 40 yard goal in a final is not to be sniffed at.

Germany picked England apart. It was a good game!

Although it was all pixelated and crappy due to having to watch it on my Data Cap.

Some prejudice peeking through here - Renee Leota is probably one of the best footballers in Wellington, but you wouldn't know it.

But compare that 40 yard goal to Ronaldo's for United against Porto in the CL last season, and then look at the role of the goalkeeper in each.

One can't do a thing to stop a genuine bullet, one is too small to protect her top corner from what is a well struck shot.  It's a big issue for the women's game, good strikes are made to look better by average goalkeeping.  Perhaps the goals should be smaller?

On this subject, have any of the girls from our U17 side gone onto bigger things this year? Or are most of them still finishing school here?

Why is people scoring from well struck shots a problem for the womens game? I suggest it isn't. I've also seen great saves by womens keepers. Don't make the goals smaller. That's a rediculous idea.
