Fighting all over a box. What a shame.

ireland need to score early to open the game up and force france to play and then maybe grab another on the counter

I beleive Ireland can do it.

if its 1-0 after full time,  does away goals count in extra time.

It would have for our qualifier so I'd say yes.

Meh. The Irish would be great to see at the World Cup... Proper fans and everything. My roots are Irish (on my dad's side) so am thoroughly hoping they get through. I could have New Zealand, Ireland and Spain to go for (in that order)! French are too tasteful...

I'm so very torn over this one.  Part Irish and love the team, but also love the French team. loyalgunner2009-11-19 02:11:33

Will probably watch this. I've got both in my bloodline but I'm more Irish so I'll be cheering for them

Pretty sure there was a World Cup in 1994...even though neither France nor England were there.

And it was a fantastic tournament.

I remember the last time they played each other in the WC. Italy 1990, 1-1 in the group stages. Two years earlier they met in EURO 88 group stages and the Irish won 1-0.

Second half about start I think, haven't been watching it but it's all tied up at 1-1 on aggregate, each side has an away goal.
You know we belong together...

If it's still 0-1 to Ireland at full time, then extra time then penalties, right?

It's pretty hard to know who I want. I like the Irish and think they deserve to get in. Also means the dutch get a top seed which I'd like.   However, the world cup without Anelka, Henry, Ribery etc is gonna be so different

Well, I have supported France for the last two cups. Along with Australia at the last. And well the Irish would be nice to have there, I'm keen for France.

Wonder if France don't make it if they'll finally get rid of that clown Domenech.

He'll probably trot out his puppy on national TV and still get to keep the job.

I was all bubbly at my last Gaelic football training, but most of the team were a bit subdued. Hopefully they'll be happy in half an hour.
