Also see Fiji are off to the Kings Cup in Thailand in the Sept window. Good for them.

.......the national team will play full internationals against Thailand and either Iraq or Hong Kong at the King’s Cup tournament in Thailand in September.

But Oceania & the Asian confederations are two seperate Confederations. If you allow one to go one way, you have to ensure it goes both ways (directions)
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
Sounds like SM can’t qualify for CWC via the OFC League so again no different to how Nix and AFC can’t either via the ALM.
If the Aus Govt want to win to hearts and minds in their little battle with the evil CCP in the Pacific that is their (good) business.

A Fijian wonderkid is trialling at Sydney
— James (@SYDFCConspiracy) September 12, 2025
Delon Shankar is a "passionate" 18 year old midfielder currently playing for Rewa FC as well as the u20 Fiji NT
This is not Sydney's first attempt to bring him in, after reaching out earlier this year
Let's see if he gets a contract 👀 pic.twitter.com/yxSShrOxEd
Fiji lost their first game to Thailand 3-0.
Then got absolutely demolished in the 3rd/4th playoff match 8-0 by Hong Kong (HK).
Caveat being Fiji went down to 10 men at 14 mins, and then 9 men at 22 mins.
Graham Arnold's Iraq beat HK 2-1 (half Kiwi Matt Orr the pen for HK), and then 1-0 winners over Thailand in the final. No Mo Al-Taay for Iraq

The Fiji Football Association will provide counselling for two players after an ill-disciplined performance in a match at this month’s King’s Cup in Thailand.
seems a little targeted,
I wonder if anything was said in the minutes leading up to the incidents.

FT: New Caledonia 🇳🇨 0 - 3 Egypt 🇪🇬
New Caledonia will face South Africa on the 3rd of October 2025 pic.twitter.com/sTQPRRRfqK
They were beaten 2-0 by Panama their other warm up game a couple of days back.
In all honestly, pretty credible results for an island nation. Hoping they keep things respectable when the World Cup proper kicks off in a few days, although they do have France, USA & South Africa in their group...
I mean Palestine play in FIFA comps but ain't yet a official nation.
FIFA using it's power for good.

Great win for them, though tbf they were favourites in many people's opinions (including my own). Looks like a close game with the second goal only arriving in injury time
VUW AFC - Victoria University Football for life
Still it's prep and a nice confidence boost for New Caledonia ahead of the intercontinentals early next year.
Three for me, and two for them.

Just three days after losing to Portugal 6–0, Morocco laid revenge on their counterparts from New Caledonia at the #FIFAU17WC! 😳 pic.twitter.com/NFot6pdKVl
After so many positives the other day following their 0-0 draw with Japan this is a disastrous result.
80 shots! Jesus wept.
New Zealand knocked off top spot for the heaviest defeat at an U17 World Cup though (previously 13-0 v Spain in 1997).
Surely FIFA review OFC getting 3 spots at the U17 WC.
Honestly Fiji were worse 0 goals, 20 against.
At least NC got that shock 0-0 draw against Japan, and held Portugal to 1-1 at HT.
Siggy and his old team mates from 1997 will be the only happy folks. Erased from the record books.
Not even sure if NC are playing this window (training camp in France?), so they won't be the best prepared for next March.

New Caledonia qualified for the intercontinental play-offs — to be staged in March 2026 — when they finished runners-up to New Zealand at this year’s FIFA Men’s World Cup Oceania qualifiers.
Three for me, and two for them.

Papua New Guinea have made history in Port Moresby by lifting the first-ever women’s MSG Prime Minister’s Cup with an upset win over Fiji.
In the men’s final, Vanuatu won the competition for the first time after dethroning the defending champion PNG Kapuls 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 2-2 after extra time.
