"Even its language was intimidating, with bases, bats, strikes and outs." Nope, I never found baseball's terminology confusing. I've never watched an entire game, and still, nope, not intimidating.

"Americans would never invent a sport " Americans would only ever invent a sport that they can win.

I can't be bothered reading it all, It would be to amusing, as we can all agree. Whatever they say though, I still can't get my head around how stopping every tackle, and having a different team to do every different thing can be considered more exciting. And nothing, nothing any other sport can produce has as much emotion and excitement as a good penalty shoot out.Michael2009-03-17 21:53:38

Soccer is the perfect antidote to television and video games. It forces kids to run and run, and everyone can play their role, no matter how minor or irrelevant to the game. Soccer and television are the peanut butter and jelly of parenting.

Excellent!!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

How could anyone enjoy a game where so much energy results in so little advantage, and which typically ends with a penalty kick out, as if it is the audience that needs to be put out of its misery? Shootouts are such an anticlimax to the game and are so unpredictable that the teams might as well flip a coin to see who winsindeed, they might as well flip the coin before the game, and not play at all.

I'd hate to watch the football he sees? clearly not watching the prem league where there have been 4 -1 and 4 - 0 thrashings of late.
