That wasn't a yellow. Another case of a player milking a foul to get a card for their opponent!

Smeltzy would have scored that without having to rely on the post.

He definitely should have done better, especially as it was obvious Forlan was going to strike from there. The ball Jubalanied a bit though.

Anyone catch the slow motion close-up of Forlan's reaction to van Bronckhorst's goal? Was evil.

Just looked like normal curve tbh. I think most balls would move like that

Thats how it looked to me - spinning clockwise and moved left to right.  Didn't seem to snake at all.

cool strikes from both Gio and Forlan

karma appears for Uruguay, really bad call by ref to not pull up VanB which directly lead to ex-Arsenal man Gio's strike. The  penalty shout, 9 out of 10 those are given, plus on the only replay shown linesman has birds eye view. Very hard done by indeed.

Great tackle by Carces after RVP and Snider worked well to put Robben in. that was the only time Godin was done, he's really stepped up, hopefully he can last the 90

Uruguay look good on transition, Holland are slower here. Maybe Arebu on for hold and height option and try to get Perieria running at Gio

had to laff at commentator "goal out of nothing/against run of p0lay"   Uruguay had bossed 15 mins, obvious penalty, 2 good chances and Cannvi butchered one.

Game On!

I think all those on here who objected to Uruguay's "cynical fouls" might be struggling to support the Dutch. They've got away with a heap, including a penalty. Uruguay the better team so far for me.

Uruguay looking like they have far more go forward in this half.

I dont think it was a penalty i think it would have been pretty harsh if given. Ive watched Cavani a lot at Palermo he does go down very easily. "they've got away with a heap" like what? they havent been shooting a lot, Stekelenburg hasnt made numerous saves or they havent hit the woodwork so what have the dutch got away with? other than the "penalty"

poor call. RVP is clearly offside, he's clearly influencing play
Uruguay's luck has most certainly run out.

Gutted. Uruguay were the better side in my opinion.

Five good goals in all, great football!

Bummer. Well in Uruguay though. Hopefully can get third. Do goals still count to golden boot in the playoff?

Felt Holland were the better team. They held possession far better and used it well. Uruguay had moments where they looked threatening but I think the best team won.

yes. and just as well too as Suker's effort in 98 won me a small fortune.

lol at Van Bommel finally getting a yellow in the 95min.

commentator is a dick. "Uruguay never looked likely".... especially after conceding 2 goals that should not have been awarded. and for the record your honor from 20-50mins they were clearly the better team. Uruguay very unlucky today.

good luck for the Final Holland, realistically more of a shot of overturning either Germany or Spain than Uruguay were. RVP I'm surprised at the negative press around him lads, he is well threatening because hos first touch is good and he passes quick. He's got vision. Kyuit looks like a C Grade plodder, but his commitment and work-rate is fantastic. Robben is a show pony. I think they missed De Jong, van Bommell is a foul machine but that's not cynical, Hetinga and Bouhlarzi went very well.

the last sub, he's really good...hope he gets a go in the Final.

Good luck Holland be great to see a new champion.

Great game. Both sides attacked and both scored some brilliant goals. Hard luck for Uruguay but felt Netherlands deserved it, not that Uruguay were poor but the Dutch just had that edge over them, particularly in the midfield.

If the second semi is even half as good i'll be very happy.

Three for me, and two for them.
