Vamos Spain, Forca Portugal etc. etc.

Spain to will win. I'm thinking 2-0. Villa and Xavi.

Let the Iberian war commence.

Three for me, and two for them.

Nice match up this. Can't see Portugal doing it. I'm going 2-0 Spain, goals to Inesta and Torres, with Fernando finally scoring with an inadvertant header he knew nothing about.

Villa to score probs paying like $2 at the TAB... Pretty sure bet with the form Torres is in. I'm thinking 3-1.

Hairy moment for Casillas. Can't say he's been at his best this World Cup.

Three for me, and two for them.

I think almost any country would take that to be honest.

Casillas

what's this guy's name again? He's always the commentator at all the world cups i can remember and also commentates the age-grade world cups etc etc

I cant stand him. He's got a unique ability to successfully remove every ounce of intensity and drama from any game, no matter the occasion, yet he always gets the biggest games??? I much prefer the other guys we've heard, i think they're premier league commentators mostly, but they never seem to get the big fixtures

Casillas

Their team on paper is pretty amazing

to elaborate the equation you could say;

spain = (barca + casillas + alonso + torres + ramos) - messi

This from the BBC's live text:

BBC Radio 5 live's Graham Taylor

"Twice now, probably more, Alonso has mis-controlled the ball. But his desire to win it back is absolutely first-class. I can only assume he learnt that in the Premier League."

Yeah, because players don't have a desire to win the ball back anywhere outside of England.

Three for me, and two for them.

Spain going for big kicks in while Portugal getting a few sneaky headers into the box.

0-0 at half time. Hasn't been great so far. Portugal content to play their pragmatic style they've persisted with all tournament so far (bar 45 mins against the North Koreans). Spain need a bit more edge to their attack to open them up, or perhaps another piece of Villa magic.

Three for me, and two for them.

Iniesta has been surprisingly poor so far

I'm enjoying the referee's complete refusal to award Ronaldo anything - even though a few times he was definitely fouled.

I need this game won within 90minutes. I've got work at 8.30am. Thank you.

Best chance of the game for Spain then. And just then for Villa too. Spain heating up.

Three for me, and two for them.

I'll admit i'm not a huge fan of the Spaniards but i do love that man David Villa. Vastly underrated by Premiership fanboys who never watch him play, but really he is the best natural finisher in the game today, only Drogba comes close.

Three for me, and two for them.

villa does look very good from what i've seen, admittedly not a lot, basically just spain as i never catch valencia. Will see more of him now that he's at barca though i guess

Haha at least you're being honest. I was more having a crack at those who pretend to have seen him play just through the odd youtube clip or La Liga highlights package. If he finds his niche at Barca he will be unstoppable.

Spain fully dominant now. I'll actually be disappointed if Portugal nick one on the counter now, they don't deserve it at all.

Three for me, and two for them.

I like the look of this Portuguese keeper actually, he has been pretty consistent all tournament, i'd never even heard of him before the World Cup.

Three for me, and two for them.
