Hoping for a Germany v Uruguay final with Uruguay winning. But think Germany v Holland with the Germans winning.
Still a week and a bit away but really excited for this! Don't know if I'll be able to watch yet but should work something out.
My final pick:
Germany 2 (Ozil 96', Klose 114')
Holland 0

Three for me, and two for them.
Queenslander 3x a year.
What if they win the final in a penalty shootout?
Of the remaining teams.
Villa - 5
Sneijder, Muller, Klose - 4
Forlan, Suarez - 3
Three for me, and two for them.
If I'd mentioned them it would have undermined the entire point of my post which was the toughness of their road to the final.
I'm glad others picked up on the joke.
got him at 40/1 but despite having 2 matches to play I don't think he's got enough on the board. best result is to lose to Dutch then have him play 3/4 oplay off against demoralized and weakened Spanish so he gets 3 or 4

Sweet. Yeah i'll probably edit it into my post below yours so it doesn't get lost in the mire. Mods can decide whether to shift it to yours or not after that

Three for me, and two for them.
We also learned that if the Netherlands win the final they will be the first team since West Germany in 1990 to concede in more than one match in the knockout stages (thanks ZM).
Three for me, and two for them.

We've now also learned we will have a first-time World Champion, for the first time since 1998. Spain or the Netherlands will become the eighth country to win the World Cup (Uruguay, Italy, Germany, Brazil, England, Argentina, and France being the other winners).
And from the 'that's fairly interesting' file, Spain have the chance to be the 2nd Euro champions to go on an win the World Cup*. The first being Germany in 1974. Now, just who did they beat in the final?
*For the trainspotters, France also held both trophies in 2000, but did it in the other order.
I know, I know, its serious!
Three for me, and two for them.
For what it is worth, I'm picking the Netherlands 2-1, but I'd prefer spain to win because of the whole New Zealand as the only team unbeaten thing. So many t-shirt, banner and pub quiz opportunities there.

Totally neutral but would like to see Netherlands win too.
The rational part of me (ooh err) says Spain.
I don't give a monkey's what the octopus chooses - it's bl##dy ruined this world cup.

I think Spain, if they play to potential, will will easily.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
I think Spain, if they play to potential, will will easily.
And that is why i take exception with people saying the final will be a bore or a dullfest. Two teams both playing well who can still find another level (or possibly two), i think it will be a fascinating game.
Three for me, and two for them.
