Put some money on Rodriquez to score at $6.50 this morning. For a penalty taker that seemed like free money!

Hats crazy money... Was that at the TAB? He the top scorer so far and to pay that or anytime is crazy. Usually it would e around 2-3$

$6.50 was the live odds at the time, this was when there was 15 to go. I imagine they would have opened at $2.50ish max.

Haha nah they stay on your TAB account online until you draw on them. I thought you had to validate your account though, so not sure how you do that from Malaysia. I've never had the chance to withdraw TAB winnings, so I really don't know what I am saying.

Anyone hoping for some goals from specific people with these quarter finals coming up? My hopes are with Messi and ideally Muller for my golden boot bets, both on 4 goals while Rodriguez sits on 6.

Did any clever bugger put some money on Rodriguez golden boot? Would love to know what his pre-tournament odds were.

I went for Higuain (as I did in 2010 and think he finished only a goal behind) and Neymar which now can't happen.

Had money on a goal to be scored within the first 27 minutes, and Germany to win by 2 or more. Think it's fairly safe to count those chickens before they hatch.

So a win on Germany to make the Final.

Going to put a $15 bet on the final but am in two minds about who to pick.Think that Germany have a better squad overall and obviously come in as favorites BUT Argentina put everything on the line in their last game and have the added motivation of winning in brazil and a heap of fans arriving in brazil to cheer them on.

After an up and down but largely unsuccessful football world cup, on Friday a slightly drunk Fitzy finally got too frustrated and thought "f**k this, I'm putting my rent money on the Cheifs to beat the Blues, I don't even care any more."

Moral of the story is that a blind reckless bet on a sport you know very little about is always a better idea than a carefully considered, seemingly sensible bet on a sport you claim to be a huge fan of. Who knew.

I'm pretty terrible at this so I guess it's good I only do it for special events like World Cups. Started with $50 and ended with $17 this time. Last time ended up $100 up.

Put $20 on at the beginning won a few flukey bets but overall lost most bets.Turns out putting $2 on the most unlikely (but well paying options) is a poor technique.Ended up with $21.50 on my account.

So put $20 into an account at the start, and withdrew $50.46 at the end of the tournament. Pretty happy with that.
