Niche Cache mentioned this as a rumour earlier this week. Note a Dundee United team mate has already signed there.

Yes he hasn't done much lately. Got injured at an unfortunate time at promoted DU, and that really cost him his chance of making the move there permanent.

Get the feeling AFC are after higher quality strikers than Greive.

To give him credit he did have 2-3 seasons in the SPL (8 goals in total), coming straight from NZ domestic football. Never easy. But he's small, without real blinding pace. I imagine he'll be trying to catch the attention of English L1/L2 clubs from Ireland. He'll need to score consistently there like Mata did, to do that.

League of Ireland beginning to feel like some weird purgatory for All Whites talents. Still a contract in Europe is a contract in Europe.
And its still a 'professional' league right?
Quick google says average pay is 40,000 euros - so a living to get to play the game you love, and stay in europe for that 'one' scout to find you if you perform.

He'd probably be on better money coming home to NZ and playing in the Northern League. League of Ireland isn't much better then that. Obviously AFC and the Nix both feel he's not good enough for the A League though.

This is quite a disappointing move especially from the spl. Let's hope he scores a truck load of goals and goes back to a decent league.

A 2-0 loss to start off with for Alex at Bohemians, came on in the 63rd minute against Silgo Rovers. Pijnaker provided the assist for Rover's second goal at the very end.

Bohemians beat Kerry on pens in the Cup. 2-2 end of NT & ET.

Greive with Bohemians 2nd goal late in the first half and then off at 57 mins (2-2), so misses ET & the shootout dramas.

Not quite the heights of starting against Costa Rica in that big playoff in 2022.

Reading their forums and the fans are very unhappy with their play and coach. This win was against a lower division side and seems they played badly to take it to penalties. Doom and gloom in the forum on possible relegation if bad form continues.

Unused sub in a 1-1 draw.
Not great when you can't get on the field for the 8th best team in the LOI.

For awhile there he was a starter for St Mirren in the SPL.

Greive on at 63 mins (0-1) in a 1-3 loss
Bohs did go down to 10 men in the 48th min (0-0)

3 games left, and Bohemians remain 8th, 4 pts above Drogheda United in 9th (relegation playoff spot).

Bohemians (8th) travel to Waterford (7th).

A nothing game with 2 rounds of the LOI left. Bohs now safe from dropping down to 9th (relegation playoffs), but can't finish higher than 7th.

Greive will be back in 2025, as he's on a multi year deal.

Last game of the LOI season.

Bohs (8th) host relegated Galway (5th).

Greive 0 goals at Bohemians in 11 games. Did get a goal(s) in the FAI Cup, but overall his 2nd very average club stint, after mostly ending up a bench player at Dundee United in the Scottish 2nd tier (1 goal in 13 games).

His best goal output actually was with St Mirren in the SPL (8 goals in 63 games). Hopefully in 2025 he can go better in the LOI, with a full preseason, having settled into the league, style of play etc etc
