A Danish-Kiwi thing?

Also basically happened with Eli Just when he was at Horsens. They refused to sell him to IFK Göteborg in Sweden in 2024, a move he badly wanted at the time.
Like McC, apparently Just was not happy.

Back to Minny to somehow increase their offer I guess.

How long does he have on his contract?

I like McCowatt but just wish he got these numbers a lot earlier in his career. At 27 his looking for a nice big contract. Minny would be sideways move but a nice cheque day.

Success was never in doubt moving from the ALM to another 3 tier League.

Does Minny need a striker after they signed the Columbian superstar?

James Rodríguez? He only had 3 months with Minny on a short term deal to keep fit for the WC.
It's rumoured 35 yr old James may now retire.

And McCowatt ain't a striker. Only bottom placed Sporting Kansas have scored fewer goals this season than Minnesota in the Western Conference.
Fellow Kiwi coach Knowles must see McC as a potential answer to the lack of goals. Can they give Silkeborg the moolah they want?

Didn't release he was there for only 3 months.

I know his not a striker but new Minny was looking for a goalscorer from the midfield. That's why they were bidding for Adj's teammate Mofokeng(21) but he went to Belgium for Champions League football.

But without James they going to need a striker?

Great finish to last season, great start to this one... odd there are not more rumors about him.

He's only increasing his asking price with these early season returns - they'll never let him go at this rate! 😆

In all seriousness though it's great to see him be up there week in, week out. One of the more consistent Kiwi performers (especially at club level) over the past 18 or so months.

Little bit of a 'flat track bully'? ie have a feeling most of his assists & goals are against the weaker teams in the SuperLiga.

Though he did produce a gem of a pass for an assist against big boys FCK last week.

And maybe if he played for a stronger team than Silkeborg, he'd do even better??

He seems clearly their best payer currently, and maybe they are just holding out for as high a fee as possible. Had two of their better players (top scorer Adamsen & their experienced keeper) leave on frees at the end of last season.

Minnesota’s interest has now been reported on their end too, albeit with a note that “negotiations might prove too difficult over the next few weeks”. Before the game the SIF footy director told media that there have been no additional bids for McCowatt yet...

Jesper Stüker, SIF sporting director: “Not just yet, but perhaps it could happen tomorrow. It is not that Callum is not for sale. Everybody is for sale in football. But there’s also the sporting situation to consider and it is no secret that our beginning to the transfer window has been limited with our top scorers now Austria [Tonni Adamsen] and Callum was number two on that list. Oliver Ross can also score goals and that will help if we do sell one of our forwards.”

McC off at 72 mins (0-0) in a 1-0 loss.

Picked up an early yellow.
