Surprised he didn't get the start, but he's still managed to get 2 in the past 2.

Suspect with his partner in crime now gone to the Superliga, he's going to have to carry a lot more responsibility up the pointy end of the field. Off to a rocky start, but hopefully the ship is starting to come right after the past couple of morale boosting wins.

Helsingor (9th) host Hvidovre (4th)
McCowatt on the bench.  Liam Jordan starting.

https://us.soccerway.com/matches/2022/08/13/denmark/1st-division/elite-3000-helsingor/hvidovre-if/3795856/

Edit - Helsingor down 0-1 at HT.

Edit 2 - a 0-3 loss. McCowatt came on 63 mins (score 0-1).
Helsingør
9th and early days, but already looking well off the pace for promotion. Not great either for McCowatt if struggling to start for a side themselves struggling.

Bit of a crazy upset result as Helsingor grab a 4-0 win away at in form SonderjyskE

McCowatt starts and gets 66 mins (4-0 when he comes off). Liam Jordan a goal and an assist

Hopefully this is the result that boosts Helsingor and makes them a promotion contender

Scored the first of the two goals from a header at a corner. Some places put it as an own goal, but I don't think anyone would mind keeping it as Callum's goal

McCowatt doesn't seem like a nailed on starter this year - has he reached his level?

Always thought he was a decent player, but lacking a soft touch. Ball bounces off him a little too far IMO which always cost him that little bit of time and space.

Still young, so time to work on that and other areas of his game.

They've really come off the boil this season haven't they? I know the league is a little bit tighter, which I guess is a good thing for the competition side of things, but they won't be happy with a couple of Twittings they've received already this season...

Also, do we think this is McCowatt's level for the foreseeable? Surely seeing his mate Elijah make the step up to the Danish Superliga should have lit a fire up under him. Time will tell I guess, but he is Still contracted until the end of the 23/24 season. Plenty of time for things to happen.

Going back to when ES won the Handy Prem final in 2019, and from memory he was league Golden Boot - you'd have hoped he had a higher ceiling than Danish 2nd tier.

Who knows if Helsingor hadn't imploded so badly last season he'd be up in the Superliga alongside Just & Co
