McCowatt off at 62 mins (1 of 3 changes made at 0-0) as Silkeborg chase the win. And they get a late goal to get up 1-0. Sit in 4th spot.

McC having a very good year in 2023, overall.

Silkebog with a Danish Cup tier, against 4th tier Young Boys (not the Swiss version) next up.

A 5-0 rout in Silkeborg's favour. They go top of the table for 24 hours. Teams below them like FCK (2nd) & Brondby (3rd) to play tonight.

McCowatt off the bench at 73 mins (4-0). Norwegian guy Þórðarson he replaced with a hat trick. McC off to Murcia now.

Silkeborg got the win 2-1. Callum came on alongside former Helsingør teammate Tonni Adamsen in the 69th minute with it still 1-1, replacing Søren Tengstedt in a wide position outside of league top-scorer Alexander Lind (who opened the scoring).

Wind was absolutely blowing, so a lot of the play was down one end of the pitch, with Silkeborg attacking that end in the second half. Bit of a storm over DK at the moment which has brought blæsevejret (literally 'the blowing weather'; gales and swells). Several times dead balls had to be reset due to the wind blowing the ball of the mark, with one free kick being retaken due to the ball moving when it was hit.

Callum came close on two occasions; in the 74th he had a shot from close-ish range from a cut back very well saved by the Hvidovre keeper (0.79 xGOT) who prevented it hitting the roof of the net. Adamsen then scored directly from the resulting corner, getting it up in the wind and curling it in wickedly. Not an actual assist, but he was the last Silkeborg player to play the ball before Adamsen's finish. McCowatt's second came from a Lind cutback from the left to just inside the box, where he swiveled and only narrowly missed the top far corner.

Job done on a cold, windy night south-west of Copenhagen, and Silkeborg go top of the Superliga, at least until Brøndby or FC København play.

Comes off the bench at 58 mins (1-0) in a 2-0 loss. Silkeborg slip to 6th.

They now have a 2 legged Danish Cup quarterfinal against Superliga leaders FCK. Then is the winter break until February.

Given the length of the winter break do danish teams ever loan out players to keep them sharp for two or three months?

Don’t think so. Would be all sorts of messy insurance issues I imagine for starters

They tend to regather in Jan or early Feb for camps and friendly games in Southern Spain (incl Canary Islands) or Portugal

Presumably the Kiwis in Denmark will sneak in 2-4 weeks in NZ, if light on the Xmas cake 🧁

McCowatt's second goal of the season against København puts Silkeborg in the drivers seat in this one.

Long way to go (1½ matches 😅) but it's something to hold on to against last season's DBU Pokalen & Danish Superliga winners.

Off the shin & then the post. Xmas came early. Great result for Silkeborg, a 2-0 win away. So they will be backing themselves to win the QF tie. 2nd leg this weekend at home.

McCowatt off at 69 mins (2-0). He's having a really good 2023. Both 2nd half of last season with Helsingor and now up in the Superliga with Silkeborg. 3 Superliga goals, plus another 3 in the Danish Cup. Found the net for AWs against Sweden as well. Return Cup tie this weekend then his own winter break.

McCowatt started and off at 65 mins (0-2), so the tie was 2-2 at that stage. Fortunately Silkeborg got the goal they wanted at 69 mins (finished 1-2) to get a 3-2 win on agg, and into Danish Cup semis.

It's now the winter break until mid Feb next year.

2 goals in pre season. Nicely taken goal the first one against KIK from Farore Islands. 2nd one against Elfsborg from Sweden's top flight.
Superliga restarts next week. Silkeborg (4th) in a big game host FCK.
McCowatt with a goal & Silkeborg with an upset win at FCK in early December.
