His share enthusiasm alone warrants him to win this. BUT, under it all, he is doing the job - scoring goals, dragging defences and never giving up attitude. The kid has grabbed his chance and the club have been reaping the rewards that they have invested in him. A true win-win situation. And a deserved win-win.

I watched the Nix game this morning (UK time) and then drove straight down to Bristol for the Argyle win away at Bristol Rovers. Chalk and cheese these two games, the Nix being a hard watch while Argyle dominated in a sold out stadium in a local derby.
Argyle plays the kind of football that Wayne would thrive on and I think that by stopping the transfer, we might have prevented him from ever winning a trophy. Argyle are on fire at the moment, clear top of the league with one of the best records in all of British football right now and managed by a very talented young Brit who, like Uffie, likes to play guys from the academy.

I have no doubts that Waine will get to the UK, he has the talent (and the passport) to make it happen. It is just a question of when, once his deal is up he moves for free. The Nix are backing him to increase his value before selling him before next season rather than sell for less now.

Exeter, Plymouth and Bristol are the main cities in that part of England. It's not an Argyle vs Exeter or Rovers vs City game but it's still very much a derby.

Have read 200k (about 340k NZD) but that is just repeating rumor on forums so don't take it as fact.
Think if Nix are to make serious money they would need him to score a bucket of goals in League 1/Championship then get sold on by Plymouth for a much bigger fee, of which the Nix would get percentage (how much I don't know).

Would hazard a guess at between $300,000-$400,000 up front, and back-ended with a sizeable percentage in the sell on clause, which is where the real money will be made out of this deal.

The club turned down the previous offer and we're adamant that they were sick of the a league selling players at bargain prices, so I'd expect it to be higher than the six figures (reportedly) previously offered.

I think the real clutch element to this signing is Plymouth sit top of the League 1 ladder but will be well aware a lot can change between now and the end of the season. They may very well be signing purely on potential but they must believe he could be Championship quality, and believe he has the goods to be an integral part in their ability to not only, maintain a strong push for promotion but stay afloat in the next tier should they get there.
He's definitely come on leaps and bounds each season. He has a lot more physical presence nowadays and the shots he makes now are real class. It's just the ones he misses that have driven me up the bloody wall as fan. But what we've got is a home-grown striker who is driven and I think really loves his football and is eager to kick on. And Plymouth are getting a young prospect who can keep on developing and is malleable enough to keep upping their game and learning new tricks. If he can really zero in on consistency and composure in the final third during his time there, the sky is the limit. And that could be a bloody awesome thing for the All Whites as Chris Wood enters the latter stages of his career.

And speaking of Wood, as coochiee has mentioned, who better to have as someone that Waine can go to if he needs advice or support.
They will be situated at basically opposite ends of Blighty, but I'm sure The Woodsman & Waine will be having regular phone chats. Was apparent with the AWs earlier this year, Wood was basically coaching Waine one on one in trainings, the Oman game reportedly etc. Potential heir apparent
I imagine the big piece of advice will be patience, and just turning up every day at training, giving your best. Took Wood nearly 10 seasons (and lots of loan deals) in the UK before he had his breakout campaign with Leeds in the Championship in 2016/17 (27 goals in 44 games).
Waine may never never get to EPL standard, but even if he became a regular goal scorer in League One or The Championship, that would be excellent for the future of the AWs & NZ Football. Seems a well communicated & thought through move. Long way to go. Patience.
