Can anyone tell me why he hasn't appeared for the AWs for a while? Also what ever happened to Adrian Webster?
Webster is now playing for Cockburn City in the WA State League. He left Blyth Spartans (Conference North) in January's transfer window.

the AWs WIkipedia page is very up to date, so Tbilisi could well be true. James doesnt seem shy about playing in some unlikely places. Looks like they are a decent side. Historically Georgia's strongest and made it to qualifying stage of Europa League this season - but knocked out home and away on goal diff by Red Star Belgrade

actually, on closer inspection there are some mistakes and errors on that AW wiki page, so who knows

Yeah not that up to date.  I was fixing some serious Campbell errors when I discovered this about James.

Maybe he has been, does anyone know when the russian/georgian season kicks off?  Hes being fit and in form will be very useful to the AWs

A fit James in the midfield with McG and Brown would be a good midfield combo to have over the next 4 - 5 years.

James and McG with their short passing games and Brown to do the hard yards. Put Bertos out wide and other promising young wing players like Costa and Marcos plus Brockie and we start looking a little sharper than we have for a long time.

Am surprised he has not been picked up earlier. Scored quite a few goals at tampere whilst there playing as a box to box cm.

No sign of James on the Dinamo Tbilisi website - so it could well be complete myth.

If anybody can confirm his whereabouts, please do

This Georgian Tbilisi supporters' site mentions Chris a few times in a forum in February and gives our squad for the Mexico friendly. However, it's in the Georgian alphabet which is not translatable by Google. (Chris' name is given in our alphabet though.)
Few search results will come up for Chris James and Dinamo Tbilisi because the Georgian alphabet is not compatable with an English language Google search...
But here is the Dinamo Tbilisi forum that mentions Chris:

Also seems to be linked with the "Puerto Rico Islanders" in the USA who play in the league below Major League Soccer. See this fans' forum (translated from Spanish) discussing potential new signings, including Chris this week:

Discussion of Chris trialling with Puerto Rico Islanders also here. Fans are unsure if it's our All White Chris- but sure looks like him in the photo of triallists which has the players labelled:

These are all forum postings from the last few days.
A bit of a come-down from the lofty heights of Dinamo Tbilisi!!!

Dinamo aren't the power houses they used to be either.  I'd like him to just start playing again and get picked up or even better, get approached by Ricki and signed as the Nix's new creative/attacking midfielder.

I would love for the nix to chase Chris James, get him back on track with his footballing future. I've always rated him and I know a lot of others in the country do too, he can make or break a game and is the exact type of player we are after.

He made a huge mistake leaving fulham (who had put another offer on the table).  Even though he hadn't had game time with the first team it's been all downhill from there.

You're right, it's ashame he didn't stick round with Fulham for another season or two and maybe some sort of loan could have been sorted out with a lower league english side once they realized he had potential. He was so young, still is really.

He seems to like Europe, even if he does end up playing or linked to some of the more obscure football leagues.

2nd tier in the US would be alright, in the hope that he would go on to get selected in the MLS. At least media coverage would be in English...lol.

If he got into a MLS team and got plenty of game time would be great, but if talk of this 2nd tier team is true, not sure how long that would take to happen.

lets just hope he gets fit, and goes to a team were at least he gets some game time and starts to show his potential again.

If we build it, they will come...

he still doesnt seem to have played a game though - from what i can gather

the guy should write a book one day - he must have some storries (from wellington to premiership club to finland to MK Dons to to trials in hungary (or was it slovakia?) to Georgia and possibly to Puerto Rico! and he's only 22

James has gone to Barnet until the end of the season. They're currently 18th in League Two.

chris has earned a "sticky" topic thanks to resurfacing in the real world. let's hope he gives it a shake a Barnet.

To be honest, I'm a little surprised he's dropped down that far, but he's obviously just not had much success elsewhere and needs games before the World Cup. I'm also a little shocked at Barnet's league position. They've never been a big club during their time in the league, but they've got some decent players such as Gary Breen, Paul Furlong, Micah Hyde and David Livermore. These guys may all be getting on but they've all played in the Premier League.

Surely any footie is better then no footie.  Hopefully he gets noticed here and picked up by a better team.

This lad's going places isn't he?

It mentioned it being a short-term contract - hopefully he'll come home afterwards.

tbh I think that's probably the best thing for him to do to reinvent himself.

a bit of guidance from Ricki would probably do wonders for him.

in saying all that I would prefer him to be picked up by  a championship/mls team than him to come home, but if he doesn't get a contract of those lines he should be talking to Ricki about playing for the Nix.

I don't understand why Tampere hadn't been playing him or why they let hi go. Judging by his wikipedia stats it looks as though he did quite well at Tampere. (19 Games 4 Goals 8 Assists) or something like that from memory. Gee.. he goes from playing in the Champions League to playing at the 18th placed club in Football League Two. :(

Damn Football is a funny thing. League Two??

He's much better than this. This is 4th tier level that destroyed David Mulligan footballing after Sc**thorpe United. The level of UK footballers we recruited that destroyed the Kingz and the Knights??

He needs to dominate the game at that level to get some notice at the higher clubs. Glad it is only a short stint, or his game will corrode after a while, I think.

He's 41!!!

Paul Furlong - legend! Good place for James to get games - one of the smallest squads in the comp. Knights fans might remember that Sean Devine is/was Barnet's all time leading goalscorer.

Furlong may be 41, but he's looked after himself, played at the top level (I remember him when he was at Stamford Bridge) and knows where the net is. Sheringham played in the top flight until he was 40.

Not all League Two players are of poor standard. People probably don't remember that Terry McFlynn signed for Sydney FC from the Conference club, Margate. That's even lower down the pyramid.

Yeah well, the problem with A-League that despite having teams of decent level, the players abilities are still wide and varied within the team. Some belong to the Conference League level, some can make a decent EPL or championship career if given a break and everyone else is in between.

19th placed Barnet drew 1-1 with Burton Albion.  Chris James didn't play - I assume he's yet to receive clearance or whatever?

Who exactly from the A league would make an EPL team?

Ask Paul Ifill, he said the same thing.

He's not exactly going to say the a-league is crap is he.  Ifill came from the Championship, and he was one of the top 3 players.  Can't see Carlos or Shane making the EPL.

I think he probably meant youth players being good enough to be picked up by epl youth team systems. (Oar,Leckie,Costa)
