Not only does Mowbray have confidence in Killen, but it seems like Killen has confidence in Mowbray.
He doesn't have to start, but the more performances like these, the more he is pushing for a spot

mcdonald isa dead cert - but who are contenders alongside him?

Other options are Fortune and Samaras I guess (there's a few other forwards, but don't think they'd rate ahead of Killen at this stage). I also hear rumours that Mowbray doesn't rate McDonald that highly, so that could be more good news for Killen.

More from the celtic rumour mill.

I heared Mowbray want to bring Arsenal youngster Jay simpson on loan again (he had him at WBA), That may not be so good for kill'em

Anyone know if Killen got on the park this morning? Know he was on the bench, but can't find out if got subbed on at some stage.

Haha, don't know how Celtic got on tonight but but was lucky enough to be at Wembley and watch Killy play.

He was very mobile and very hungry/keen.  Seemed to be trying very hard to impress Mowbray.

Good to see he is definatley in hte plans, and whilst i a msure that he is disappointed that his team did not win or draw, he will quietly happy neither of the starting strikers scored. Increases his chances of starting in the future.

Celtic overturned a 1 nil away deficit and beat Dinamo Moscow 2 zip in Moscow last night. McDonald scored first and Samaras was the hero with a late winner. Killen was on the bench but didnt get on. Suspect that result and two other strikers getting important goals means he will have to bide his time for now.

Killen fourth choice. McDonald and Fortune started. McDonald got one, and Samaras came on as a substitute striker and scored. Was a good goal.

Odd result for Celtic, they normally suck playing away, esp when they have lost at home already.

Was basically a Celtic B-team.

Keen to get a Celtic bumblebee strip with Killen on the back, some nice goals in there and brilliant commentary.

Great strike, a few of his doubters may have to start backtracking, 5 goals in six games against some quality sides.

interesting line up he played. only one proper striker (Samaras) with even mcdonald and fortune on the bench. hence killen slipped off it. I think that was probably a one off game plan and he would revert to two up front which brings killen back into the fray (although not as first choice starter).

And he played a full game, as Buckle's blog points out selection is going to be very tough for Ricki up front now.

Killen just bagged another in the League Cup...

GOAL! CHRIS KILLEN - FALKIRK 0 CELTIC 4 - Another wonderful goal from Celtic. McGinn leaves Scobbie for dead on the right, whips a cross into the box and Killen whips an instinctive finish into the top corner from 12 yards. Great stuff.

I love hearing good news about Killen. Hopefully its at the point where Tony Mowbray cant leave him out of the team now. Come on Killen! Keep on scoring son

Quite possible that Killen's parents have the wrong end of the stick.

Quite possible that the other strikers in front of him are injured and he's now got a chance which he's taking with both hands.

How's my driving? - Whine here

I'm not sure it would be wise to go around (on the net) passing on that kind of information, even if it is true.
