Sweet, hopefully he shows enough quality during preseason to win back his place in the Glasgow squad.

I knew Mowbray reuniting with Killen was a good thing. I'm really stoked for Chris too because thats gotta be a huge lift! Especially man of the match!

Great effort from Killen. That's gotta earn him at least a little bit more gametime!

Why isn't Convict posting in this thread?

Just been reading the match report on the Celtic website because the other link wasn't working. Here's what Tony Mowbray ahd to say about Killen: (sounds positive)

I know Chris can score goals, I know he works hard and is a good team player, said the Hoops boss. He did well for me at Hibs and if he continues in the same vein, he will have a future here. But everyone in the squad has an opportunity.

Blah blah blah, Wow it scores in a friendly (again) and hes back to being a No#1 striker? pffffff Pure superstition.
Come SPL season starts and hes back to being loaned-out or Reserve bench warmer.

Just saw Killen score a header goal against Spurs at Wembley. Apart from that he had a fairly quiet game, but did his job. Played the full 90.

Finally he's scoring again. Great news for the All Whites (and him of course!)

Hard not to rate a guy who has scored as many goals over the last two season as him. I'd say its just rumour.

The one they souldn't rate is Samaras, that man is a donkey in so many ways!

Just watch the celtic goal, Samaras still crap, a poor touch turned to gold luckily for him.

His whole run was arse, couldn't run in a straight line. The only good part was the finish

ha. watched his first touch half a dozen times. i think you're right, it kinda got away from him, but was still close enough that when defender dived in he could get their first (which he did quite well). funny thing about the run was that he seemed to be loping along like a horse - but nobody caught him. to be fair, we're being pretty harsh - thats was a handy goal!

ps horses are very fast - so bad analogy

Well Killen can do for Mowbray and Hibs for a season then for Mowbray and Celtic he should do better with a stronger and classier team.

Easy to think that it will be a good season for him.

Seeing Killen playing and scoring fills my heart with joy.

Hope he carries it through to World Cup qualifier time.

Somehow I don't think he'll receive such charity in the future...

Big game for Celtic on Thursday morning, guess we'll see how much Mowbray rates Killen then.
Permalink Permalink

I think unlikely Killen will start Thursday, but that doesnt mean he isnt rated or isnt more likely to get a decent crack this season. Its pretty clear already that Mowbray has more confidence in him than the previous gaffer.

Oh, I think he'll get a decent crack during course of the season. Just think we'll get a better indication of where he fits in the Celtic striking department on Thursday morning.
