Burnley will disagree with you on that one. I think he's good enough to be a decent striker for a lower end premier league club.
Premier League clubs buy players who are not good enough for the top flight regularly.
He will get on the end of a few balls in and score a few, but ultimately don't think he is cut out technically for that level.
Also worth noting he is the same striker as Vokes, so offers nothing different to him up top, and is probably a lesser striker.

What's night and day is how much more supportive the Burnley fan base is compared to Leeds.
He nodded down the header to Brady who then put in that through ball and Wood executed that brilliantly. Beautifuk stuff.

A bit over critical don't you think? Considering he was a second half substitute to get in that many goal scoring positions to begin with, to me, shows he has what it takes to be a top-level striker. Harry Kane made a mess of a number of chances too (including a 1 on 1).

One swallow doesn't make a summer, but scoring in the 92 min, in front of 68,000 fans, at the home of English football, with all the pressure of a big money move, chasing his EPL dream - boys own stuff.
Whatever else happens in his career (and not staying he will be a long term success as a premier league striker) - he will never forget that goal. He's a proud Kiwi, who's family sacrificed a lot when he went to England as a youngster - congrats to them.
That was a premier league quality goal - more to come....

I love him like any Kiwi fan should, but sadly he really could have done better :( Burnley seemed to use him as a target man in the final few minutes when he had tons of chances, so he didn't have to do much to actually put himself in a good position, someone like Kane would have had a really good go at it on a good day. Good point you have with Kane but anyone can have a bad day, I think that at the Confeds + a little bit at Leeds, Wood's shown that he's not the most clinical of converters and makes many hashes of good chances, and it's come through a little bit in this game. I sincerely hope I'm completely wrong though, if Wood could put a little work into this problem area he could be a gem for Burnley. If not, Vokes is ready to pounce, he certainly doesn't want to be displaced by a brand spanking new 15mil pounder

Well done Wood, absolute legend.
Having watched both Vokes and Wood play many times now, I can safely say that Wood is a much better player. He is far more mobile; stronger, taller, quicker, better stamina and even has a better first touch believe it or not.. Vokes looked exhausted after 60 minutes v Palace whereas Wood still looked fresh and agile, despite putting in similar workloads. Wood is also a better finisher than Vokes.. clearly Sean Dyche sees Wood as an upgrade to Vokes as well, otherwise he wouldn't have shelled out a club record signing to get Wood.
Obviously Wood has a long way to go, but he is still young and his best years and full potential are yet to be realised.
