Any word?
You cant just pick and choose which laws to follow. Sure Id like to tape a baseball game without the express written consent of major league baseball, but thats just not the way it works.-Hank Hill

Full 90 for Chris in his debut at Barnsley.
Don't know if he played well.
They lost 3-0.Stormpark942010-09-26 06:02:37

match report on Barnsley website has quite a lot of detail.
sounds like Barnsley were a bit of a shambles, Wood did some good things, missed a half chance or two based on that - for what its worth

sounds like he tested Federici so thats good. Lets see some goals chris!!

Good chance for him to score some goals here. His goals:game ratio is poor because his appearances for the Baggies have mainly been last five minutes or so but obviously there's more to football than stats. As long as he plays well and impresses di Matteo back at WBA then I'm happy. Odemwingie looks like a good signing though.

is that meant to be his fault?
SOunds like he is starting against Sc**thorpe midweek, but Im sure he is keen to make his home debut.

Wood actually drew the foul, that got the red card too.

Sarting in his home debut against Cardiff C.

Subbed of in the 58th minute, had one shot he should of put away but scuffed it. Other than that had next to no service. But worked very hard off the ball.

It would help him if Barnsley knew how to score, or have players who know how to set up chances...... they sound like the Stoke of the championship

Came on in the 80th minute in a 3-1 win over Forest.

On in the 73rd minute, and by all accounts fairly anonymous as Burnley beat Barnsley 3-0. Get in!!!
(already 2-0 when Wood came on)

Barnsley's next game is not easy, at Coventry. Hopefully he can get a run and find the back of the net.

I know, I know, its serious!

Started but taken off after 57mins. 3-0 loss against Coventry.

On the bench but didn't feature in the 1-1 draw with Hull this morning.

Sounds like Barnsley has terrible midfielders. Bit hard to score if you don't get much ball service. A team like that can buried good strikers alive. Has he got a good forward partner?

I know it's very very early yet, but with the way West Brom are playing, it dawned on me that next year (fingers, toes, and everything else firmly crossed) there is a possibility that Wood could be playing Europa league.

If West Brom maintain their current form (currently 6th, could go up to 4th with a win overnight) and Wood picks up his form for Barnsely enough to get some playing time for West Brom again, its not unfeasible.

I know it's a stretch, and wishful thinking, but that would be awesome to have a young kiwi lad playing european football.ShowUsYaNix2010-11-01 08:30:28

I think they'll end up around 11th 12th or 13th which is still a great achievement. Hull City started like this 2 years ago and only avoided relegation on the last day.

You're probably right, but I'll remain optimistic for now. Even so, at least he will have a solid mid-table EPL team to possibly go back to after his loan stint

Started but subbed after 30 minutes in the 2-0 loss to Leicester.

Yeah I just read that. Doesnt appear to be through injury either.

He must've been having a 'mare!?

One of his team-mates was also subbed at the same time....so obviously things weren't quite going to plan.

This hasn't helped his development so far - sounds like the team is getting pummeled every game

I think I'll ask for a Brighton Wood shirt for christmas.
You know we belong together...

Wood in the starting 11.
After 2mins has had a shot on goal.

From the BBC.
"Cracking Brighton debut for teenager Chris Wood as the Seagulls hit back from a goal down to lead 2-1 against Bristol Rovers. Wood grabbed the second from the spot after Jeff Hughes had earlier turned into his own net.

And an injury time o.g. equaliser for Rovers.

Keep forgetting that Wood is a teenager still, turns 19 in a few weeks. Pleased that  he is getting game time and scoring in these leagues

Excellent, more B&HA conversation to keep our corner of the zone interested when we can bare to watch the NIx no longer.

Brighton looks like a great club to be at right now. Top of League 1 and set to launch a brand new, state of the art 23k stadium over the UK summer.

He's come straight into the starting line up and on penalty duty as well which is great.

It's been a long wait...they were 'homeless' when their ground was bowled for a supermarket when I lived there in the 90s!
