Williams was standing about 2 metres in front of Wood, he took a little look to see where Wood was but didn't bother to get closer. I agree it was a great ball though.
I think Burnley are a better team with Wood up front and the results prove it. Pity that injury cost him so many games over the last couple of months.
I heard a quote from Woodsy that said Everton play a zone defence in that situation and he/they exploiuted it.

Whoops, of course, not IPL. :) And West Ham imploding is their problem, not his. He got chances and took them. That's all you can ask from any striker.

Those are some pretty big names right there - all of them starting attackers for top 6 sides (bar Vardy and Rooney). Salah, Kane and Aguero lead the pack, all with less than 100 minutes per goal, so Wood's around the 7th or 8th mark for players with 5+ goals - but Wood does this in a significantly weaker team than anyone else near him in the list.
Another interesting stat would be how many point on average does Burnley win with and without him... in terms of impact on a team in that sense there can't be too many having as big of a say.
With or without Aguero Man City win, Burnley without Wood... not so likel.
Also last time I looked Burnleys defense was solid but their goals for were not that flash, so doing it in a side not renowned for attacking play
Really hope next season he can have a full season under his belt and if he can stay clear of injuries and keeps up his current form may well end up on the radar of a bigger club

He is done his apprenticip, he is in his mid twenties and has a great future. If he keeps banging in goals like this then it won't be long for bigger clubs come sniffing around. Who knows, if Man U need a Ibrahimovic type replacement then Wood is the right type. I personally think he s a better footballer than that donkey Lukaka. Wood lives off scraps at Burnley...imagine him in front of a really creative team(which counts our the current Man U side) .
Still its very early days and he still has some work to do to get to elite level but he is well on the way

One thing is to say that he's up to the EPL level, which I agree he is, but talking about how a bigger club like Man Utd could get him because he scored two goals in one match isn't a bit much?

It's great to see him doing well 'finally'. I think some people have the idea that the only route to being a successful EPL striker is to be a childhood prodigy who breaks through as a teenager, whereas for most it's years and years of hard graft before they get there. It's now 9 years since Wood made his EPL debut, can you believe that?!

Wood's got 8 EPL goals but close enough and your point still stands. I think most people will agree that Wood will never be at the same level as the likes of Lukaku, Lacazette, Aubameyang, Kane or Aguero and scoring 20 or more goals a season in a top league. However I seriously think he can spend the remainder of his career in the next bracket down of solid double figures every year. I imagine he'd be pretty happy with that.
Though not related to real-life, I was watching one of the bigger Football Manager youtube streams the other night and they had simmed the EPL through to the end of the season with FM18 - much to the surprise of the streamer, FM had Chris Wood as the EPL golden boot with 24 goals for the current season...
