As a place to live Roma’s all over Burnley. Climate more like home, a lot more things to do, soo much culture and history, has pro rugby and a nice warm beach/sea close by.
It’s more of a question does he want to play Serie A or Prem. As a Leeds fan I’d love to have him back and I’m confident we’ll finish above Burnley next season.

Pros - Champions League stage (that's a biggie), more dollars, living in one of the world's most famous cities, interesting culture (if he is into that), personal challenge of trying to crack match day squad at a club bigger than Burnley - getting out of his comfort zone, if he's feeling a bit stale. Adoring fans if he succeeds (again if he would enjoy that).
Cons - Leaving a team where he is pretty much an established starter now - would be frustrating if just becomes a season long backup no matter what the coin. The EPL goal scoring stats he has now will be motivating and pleasing him just quietly. Leaving a team that from afar seems to suit him, the way they and he plays, plus seemingly a low dickhead culture. Generalisations but I expect a few more egos in a Lazio dressing room, than at Turf Moore. Would he be okay with that? Burnley boys are 99% English speakers, which won't be the same with Lazio.
And yeah sure Burnley probably is a little shark hole, but Wood will be living in a nice big house in a nice footballer's estate, with his long time partner (a pro women's player in the UK?). He also has his little horse racing hobby with some of his Burnley team mates. So he seems pretty settled and happy where he is.
I see more cons than pros from afar - but yeah the lure of the UCL is a big one, and will highly likely never happen for him if he stays in the UK.

I reckon he should go for it if it's really on the table. He's 28 so he's still young enough to give this a crack for a couple of years and come back to the EPL if it doesn't work out. Most mid to lower table premier league clubs would take a player of his calibre at 30 surely.

Surely it would be better to stay with Burnley than those names mentioned in the headline? Going overseas to the Champions League is one thing, but none of those English names are close to European competitions.
A club like Burnley would have a wage threshold that they would not go above - that appears to be around 50k (pounds ) per week from all accounts. Wood would be close if not at that level.
A Newcastle team would go higher then that.

Burnley is too small and lacks the muscle to be any more ambitious than what they are... weren't they also just above relegation prior to the lockdown. Their great end run I think makes their final position a little flattering to be honest.

Burnley had an unbeaten run of 7 matches prior to lock-down, including wins over Leicester and Man Utd (at Old T), and draws against Arsenal, Spurs and at a little club called Newcastle. Were in 10th place at lockdown (where they finished the season). Had a bad Christmas/New Year run prior to that though.
But true, the odds are stacked against Burnley becoming "bigger" and doing much better than they have over the past 5 years (one trip to Europe).
Chris Woods has proved great value (his price seemed excessive at the time), and getting a replacement as effective won't come cheap. But it's a cannily run club.
At this stage of his career I can’t see him going to the likes of Southampton or Newcastle. Italy is a possibility for the right price.
He also might be happy, $50k a week if he is smart is enough to set him up for life, he has 3 years left. He might be enjoying his football and the area. You just dont know what his thoughts are really

They keep playing these preseason friendlies and Chris Wood keeps scoring. He got another one in a 3-0 win over Portuguese side CS Maritimo with a typical Chris Wood kinda goal, making a sharp and decisive run and heading in a cross. He also set up the third goal for Matej Vydra. That was their final friendly game so we know for sure that The Woodsman’s coming in with some hot form as Burnley begin their new Premier League campaign against Leicester City next Monday morning... though there’s a League Cup game to get through before that.

Add to that the injury list - Gudmunsson, Barnes, Mee, Tarkovski, Cork... and rumours of their best defender (Tarkovski) possibly leaving. Fans very unhappy at the moment.

I'm not at all convinced. I think they'll do well to stay up. They will really need Wood to have a big season and bag 15+ goals.
