For those who asked for the updated buildings material PL goals chart after Chris Wood proved definitively that the second of the three pigs should have been able to handle a wolf
Wood 45
Stone/Stones 30
Cork 13
Granit 9
Glass 7
Formica 4
Hierro 1
Yes some top skill by the big fella. And even some Martin Tyler commentary as an added bonus.
Burnley stay 9 points clear of Fulham, with 4 games left. Hard to see them being relegated from here. But Clarets next with a trip to Craven Cottage, that will be must win for the Cottagers.

Wood's 12th goal for the season, from 30 games. Clarets 14th, and safe now from the drop. 3 games left.
If he plays at the Olympics and scores a few, that would help.
Fitzy
Fair play to him for ending the season on fire, it looked a couple months ago that he wasn’t going to match his previous seasons but he’s possibly going to finish with his best PL season yet

Yep regretted that example as soon as I said it lol. I reckon the best bet, balancing likelihood of playing time with the possibility of a trophy, would be Tottenham or West Ham. Win a league cup, Europa League and/or UEFA conference league, then having fulfilled his wildest dreams of a second tier trophy, head back to NZ for a few seasons with the nix. Too easy.

You forgot the winning the Olympics part in there.

Exceptional skill by Wood to keep the ball alive in the 6 yard box, wins the penalty, scores the pen and makes his 150th goal in English football in the 18th minute against West Ham.

Chris Wood has scored Burnleys second goal this morning against Fulham. Burnley currently lead 2-0
wow, great goal!

If he doesn't win the Halbergs this year, we should hold a protest at Parliament with signs and everything!!
I agree, he wont win cos there will be a rower or sailor or rugby player who will and the sporting experts dont see 12 goals in the EPL as worth anything.
12 goals so far. Still some games left. He has a prolific finish.
Seems to be doing very well with Vydra, they compliment each other well.
Up to 10th equal in the EPL goal scoring for the season with 12. Also 5th in 'Aerial Battles Won' shows what a menace he is.
If he plays at the Olympics and scores a few, that would help.
All 50 goals for the Clarets. Drink everytime the commentator says "he loves playing against..."
Upfront with Vydra against Leeds in the early kick off.
Clarets (15th) touched up 0-2 by Leeds (10th) at home. Wood subbed off at 65 mins with score 0-2.
Maybe Burnley had had a few late nights this week, celebrating EPL status for another season.

It is really quite remarkable looking at where Wood's stats place him in the goal scoring charts. There are a number of strikers in this list below Wood that would be considered absolutely world class and a couple of recent golden boot winners in Aubameyang and Mané. Most in that list would command $50m+ transfer fees if they were sold. Quite remarkable really.

What are the chances of a better club coming in with an offer for the Woodsman? I feel given his age, if he really wants to take it to the next level, now's the time. Would Burnley let him go for the right price?
Over the years I've often thought about how Wood would perform with a top-6 (or similar) team, where the quality all around him is much higher than what he's used to? Of course the pressure would be greater, but can you imagine him playing for a team that's actually trying to win trophies in the UK and Europe?
EDIT: By "taking it to the next level" I am in now way implying his career has been sub-par! He will live on as one of NZ's great sportspeople even if he never plays another game of football. I meant, if he wants to get to the Mt Olympus of football!

It might come down to how much he wants to be the main man and starting every week. Would you take 10-15 appearances off the bench for Tottenham or Arsenal (for example) over starting every week for Burnley? Some definitely would, but it wouldn't be a sure thing. Would be amazing to see him win something from a NZ perspective.
Very good point. He's unlikely to walk into a top-10 team and start every game.
However, it would be a challenge, wouldn't it? Better service, stronger team, less minutes, more pressure...and ultimately better chance of winning something.

he's not winning anything anytime soon with a move to Arsenal

Would bring something they don’t have to United. Though so would Kane.

Liverpool get their revenge on losing to Clarets earlier in the season at Anfield. Comfortable 3-0 win at Turf Moor.
Full game Wood.

Burnley finish their season at Sheffield United. Woodsman (12 goals) will need a hat trick to set a record EPL haul for him (best 14 last season).

Season over for Burnley with a 1-0 loss at relegated Sheffield United. Bit of a whimper to finish with. Full game Wood.
Clarets failed to score in their last 3 games, and ended up only 1 spot above the drop zone in 17th (though comfortable 11 points clear of Fulham).
Will be some pressure on Dyche & owners to make some new signings, with an ageing settled team.
Hopefully Hay/NZF can negotiate a Wood release for Tokyo.

Rumoured to be on the radar for Aston villa.

Chris Wood is obviously appreciated at Burnley after his goal against South Korea.

Burnley start their EPL season hosting Brighton this weekend.
Woodsman played their final warmup, a 0-2 loss to La Liga's Cadiz.

Doesn't sound like the Clarets have made any new signings at all? Same old same old.

Honestly pretty surprised he hasn't been linked with any moves. Given his consistency, I was at least expecting some wild speculation being chucked around
West Ham and Villa have been rumoured.
